What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Got blue LEDs in the steering wheel controls as half were not working and replaced the peeling SEEK/VOL button.

Used the leftover 1/0 gauge I had from my camaros battery relocation to do the big three. Used a stinger fuse box off the battery to be safe and wrapped it all in black nylon techflex because lime greens just too much for the Denali lol

So far haven't noticed too much of a difference, but apparently the people on gmfs have noticed a 1-2 mpg increase so I'll be on the watch for that.

Agreed, but it would be a major undertaking both in initial execution and in maintenance. I can't think of a simple way to do it within the forum structure, and almost think a wiki that linked back to specific posts or whole threads may be the best approach, and could be cooperatively built over time.

Definitely an undertaking, but I think it would be something good for all of us.

a Wiki would be awesome, if it would link to the right place. Maybe something worth looking into. or just a new post disguised as a wiki with links built in.

Your master idea compilation is an excellent idea as there is ridiculous knowledge, how to's, mods and info contained herein. From the basic info about the NBS model to detailed repair and maintenance info.

I've been seeing this "big 3" mod talked about. What is it and what does it do?

In short, it improves the electrical efficiency of your system. You add either 4 or 0 gauge wiring to the following:
- Battery (+) ----> alternator (recommended to put a fusible link between these)
- Battery (-) ----> chassis (I used my bumper support bracket)
- Engine block ----> chassis (I used one of the alternator bracket bolts and connected it to the factory firewall ground bolt where the braided wire is)

It's common to do this when people have big power hungry systems in their cars and suffer from headlight dim. The thicker gauge wire has less resistance so it provides less voltage drop. It also helps little things like making windows roll up faster when you roll up all four at once. I did it because I'm slowly building a system and wanted to get it over with and my shit would barely start when it was below freezing and snowing.

Very clean install. This one is getting bookmarked.

What did you use to add the wiring to the battery side post? I dont have a bolt to secure any extra wiring down. I may have to switch to a side post only battery and get rid of my top Mount connections..

Converted all my interior lights to LEDs and it looks great. Unfortunately the kit didn't come with enough lights to do the puddle lights or the plate lights, so I'll have to get extra lights for that.

Or if you wanna be a baller and have both top and side posts you can go as far as this and just use the top posts for big three, amp wires, etc..

A dual post battery is really the best solution for us. I plan to buy one and use a combo of the first and third when I get a system hooked up. Side posts for oem wires, my HID's, and small accessories. Top posts for my big three and amps.

I've heard of some led bulbs might be too big for the plate lights, don't know how true that is, but just make sure you get some that'll fit in the housings.

Unfortunately I think so. It was either have license plate lights or have front footwell lights. And I'd rather have all the interior lights be the same than have the plate lights be nice but still have 2 different colors with the interior lights, y'know?
