Ok fellas got the rear main seal replaced. While he was in there he replaced the oil cooler fittings and also added a quart to the transfer case cause it was low. Apparently the trans has been replaced at some point cause he said it has junk yard paint on the transmission. So good info going forward.

2004 Z71 Suburban Green I have a few upgrades done.

Checked crankshaft endplay to rule out a failed thrust bearing as the cause of my grenaded trans. It's within specs at .0035.View attachment 220905 View attachment 220906
I found the need to buy a dial caliper when Performabuilt tried to blame crankshaft end play for their trans breaking. They covered it under warranty but didn’t want to admit the trans broke on its own. But I also think the tow driver did more damage to it trying to unload an AWD off a flatbed when the trans was locked up.
