After a bunch of searching this is what some used and I bought a can to touch up my glove box. It matches very well to the darker tan. Kinda pricey for paint. Washed parts with dish soap, let dry and did a few light coats. So far it sticking great, even had to get onto the kids for putting their feet on it but it still looks good.View attachment 469784

Had an airbag light come on in my Denali, scanned it and its showing front left crash sensor circuit open.

Guess the drivers front finally corroded and cracked. I've got a few good spares I have saved from over the years. I'll try swapping one in tonight and see if my light goes out.

Well it took a couple days to get back to it. But removed the sensor and it had a raised spot under the sticker which is typically an indication of a crack. Put my meter on it and it was reading open. The "good" used sensors I saved about 10 years ago showed an ohm reading of roughly 19.

Put the truck back together and cleared the airbag codes and so far, no more light.

I replaced the hubs/bearings (Timkens brand, made in Korea IIRC) on my 06 Suburban 2500 a few months ago. All was well until a few days ago I got an ABS light. I scanned it and it was a bunch of front driver side wheel speed sensor codes. Checked the connection with a DVOM and it was open.

I ordered a GM Genuine replacement from RA. Turns out the cable was severed because I left it OVER the dustshield... definitely MY fault. Doh!

And the screw to remove it was a pentagon shape! WTF! Never seen that.

So in a pinch a hammered a T30 torx bit in and removed it. It wasn't that tight, good thing. I felt like a real mechanic, LOL. Replaced the sensor and I deleted the code...

Drove it to Castle Rock to dump a load of leaves at the county's slash-mulch site, then topped it off (16.7 gals) with E85. Last time I checked the ethanol was at 61% because I had put in some 91 octane gas, but this should bring it up. My experience with this station brand (Maverik) is that the ethanol content at the pump is near 70%. They've been building new stations and E85 is getting very easy to get locally.

And today the local QT price for regular is $2.22. Need to go fill up the daily driver.

Finished! It takes forever to get this done with the cleaning, peeling, taping, painting, etc, but it is so satisfying to see the results. They've come a long way.

Pentagon shape is called an Allen head. Very common. Harley Davidson’s use nothing else on the engine or frame. There’s some elsewhere on your truck.

Today was a day of waxing and polishing my 2001 Tahoe. I used Meguiar’s Ultimate Polish and Wax to get a good shine and cleaning before winter gets here. I used my Ryobi orbital detailer to apply the Polish and wax.

I have owned this Tahoe since July, 2001 and I polish and wax it every 6 months to keep the Forest Green color shine in good shape.
