Had been debating a switch to Rotella and K&N filter vs my long time Mobil 1 setup (thanks to @swathdiver). When I found a bunch of Rotella Gas Truck on the clearance shelf at Menards a while back, I took it as a sign from the Lord and bought it all.

I had also decided to run a Kreen treatment this year and have had plugs and wires on the list/shelf for a bit, so... here's what I did:

Pulled a sample for Blackstone and changed out a few quarts of the Mobil 1 about 1000 miles ago. Added 8oz of Kreen with the new oil. Also, been filling up with 93 since then.

Saturday afternoon, I pulled the air filter, intake tube, plugs and wires. Based on the P/N, I think they're the originals. Not bad for 167k.

Then I used a tiny funnel and tube with a pipette to squirt 1oz. of Kreen into each cylinder. Installed the new plugs - Delco 41-110, turned it over a couple times with the key (no wires), and let her sit overnight.

Today I cleaned the Airaid filter and MAF while they were out, installed the new wires, and put everything back together. Then I added 8oz of Kreen to the 1/4ish tank of 93 and another 8oz to the oil (For those following along with your measuring cups, that makes 1 quart of Kreen total). Wires were VMS 10.2mm (I think @Doubeleive pointed them out a while back? They've been in the parts pile for about...nevermind). They seem nice. I do wish they were about 1" shorter in a couple spots. I thought I took pictures of them installed, but...

Then I ran the truck for about an hour. A little white smoke from the tail pipe, but nothing youtube worthy. I could smell the Kreen a little, though.

Next, I proceeded to burn the skin off my hand for the sake of science by immediately acquiring another sample for Blackstone. I pulled and cleaned the catch can, and let her drain for a good long while. Documented milage, reset the oil monitor, installed K&N HP-1007, and fed her the Rotella 5w-30.

Last but not least, I took the long (Blackbear sport mode) route to grab an XL pepperoni pie. All seems good and running smooth. No noticeable difference in oil pressure. I think the lifters quieted down a touch, though.

Oh crap...I meant to rotate the tires...:disgust:
I am aware if kreen but what is the point of the "kreen treatment"?

@kbuskill was the one, looks like.

Nice job... those are great wires but they are just a little long for our trucks. Keep an eye on the driver's side as when I first installed them the steering column would catch one and pull it loose from the plug and cause a misfire. I ended up using a zip tie to hold the wires away from the column.

When the headers went on I needed angled boots so I pulled those wires off and gave them to my brother for his Silvy.

Yeah, that what I noticed, too. I think its the ISS clip that was likely snagging it. I need to do my annual shaft exercises anyways, so I will come up with a solution then. Also, the #8 gets awfully close to the sharp edge of the accumulator tray, I think. I thought I'd put some rubber edge guard on it just in case.

Yesterday afternoon I hand washed my truck for the first time. It's probably been 20+ years since I've actually hand washed a car (going back to the 90's when I was still living with my parents). Earlier in the thread I posted that I had my bi-annual polishing wax done, and this time around I'm going to try to commit to handwashing instead of running it through the local car wash. Maybe it'll keep the swirl marks at bay longer...

It came out really well, and didn't take all that long. I'm really liking how clean it came and as long as I can stick with this for at least 3 or more washes, I'll have come out ahead from a cost standpoint.

@Rocket Man, can you remind me the product you use for your glass..? The Rain X isn’t cutting it... [emoji106][emoji16]

Last time I heard @Rocket Man was using Aquapel. It's what I use now, and it's all his fault!
Yes, Aquapel. ***** the bomb. I put it on once a year, after summer before the rain starts here and it lasts all fall, winter and spring.

And I just got my new plugs and wires for The Beast. Hope this fixes the misfires.

Replaced the blend door actuator, and it wasn’t as fun as I thought it would be. Rockauto to the rescue. I also started collecting parts from Amazon to do a hydroboost conversion on the Tahoe and Silverado.

Hydroboost is awesome! Until the damn thing starts leaking. I'm on my 2nd attempt to reseal. Still leaking...

Finally received these two washers that are supposed to fix the center brake line isssue with the goodridge kit. Here’s the part # etc. I have no idea how they go in or where, no directions provided. Will have to wait till I get around to it now…

EDIT: they say I only need one, but shipped 2 anyway
