I believe I finished up the 6L80E tune yesterday. After watching Silversurfer's videos for hours, I finally have a pretty good understanding of what controls what. Torque management is iffy, but I'm getting there. He says we should be able to have a cup of coffee on the dash and not spill a drop for shifting. I believe him. This thing shifts very nicely now. I might change the shift points, but not the shift characteristics.

Even after the new battery I still had issues flashing tunes. It'd give me a boot loader error. I set up a thread on HPT forums, set up a ticket with HPT (forum told me to), and a post in the HPT group on FB. They wanted me to send in all kinds of info (understandably), but a random dude on the FB group said to try resyncing the interface. I did, it had a firmware update and that fixed the issue. Now it flashes faster than it ever has, by a lot. I can flash the ECM in 20 seconds and the TCM in 40. I'm happy. I'm wondering if I even needed the new battery to begin with...

Took a trip into NYC and got caught in good old NYC traffic for a good bit. My thermostat read 210 and I saw transmission temps of 190-195. I do most of my driving on the highway and run cooler than 210 and transmission temps this time of year are usually about 150-160. Soon as broke free of the gridlock and the stop and go all went back to what I normally see. Is it just mine or do these things like to run free?

Not just yours, it's how GM wants them to run.
In the city, in an attempt to eke out as much MpG as possible, programs vehicles with electrical fans to delay their activation,
keeping the motor oil and ATF warmer, reducing friction.

On the highway the newer trucks & suvs actually have active grilles that can choose to block some or most of the airflow that cools yours on the highway.

Got this pop up today.
Think something needs to be reset, or did it just go bad finally and I’ll need to replace the TPMS?

Has anyone had a high pitched whistling sound, but only when moving? It seems to come and go so I have trouble diagnosing it. The tone doesn't change based on speed, RPM, wheel speed, etc. As soon as I start rolling the high pitched noise starts. I figured I'd ask here before I start sticking my head into parts of the Yukon I probably should be sticking my head into.

Well it wasn’t MY K2, but it was a K2. Mine was there however.

I met up with my dad for turkey Day. He’s been having some issues that point to a stuck engine thermostat. He brought one along, and we swapped it out. The most time spent was getting the stupid intake tube out of the way. The tstat itself took a couple of minutes.

Tested my remote starter today and it works :) in the 2+ years I’ve had it I’ve never had the need or desire to use it. I’ll probobly never use it again but my lady now knows I have remote starter and can imagine her “needing” it now that she knows about it. If she gets too comfortable I’ll just start using her car more.

Piggybacking off an earlier post of mine. The temp fluctuations are more drastic than any vehicle I’ve owned. On a 35 degree day highway trip this is what it looks like. Maybe I should put a scanner on it and see if it’s the gauge being off. Transmission temp was about 135-140 iircIMG_2322.jpeg

I use my remote start everyday, one of the features I love with this truck. One of the reasons I have the Onstar Connected Subscription is to be able to start/lock/unlock from my phone. Being in South Florida, getting the truck cooling ahead is nice.

I’d probably feel different with Florida heat but in NY/Nj and a garage I don’t get the extreme temps of the south. Heated seats and steering wheel negate the need for it in the winter.

Finished up the final mods:

5 inch Maxtracc Lift Spindles
1.5 inch Maxtracc Rear Spring Lift
Suspensionmaxx extended sway bar links (front)
Cognito UCAs
Toyo Open Country 295/75/18

The wheels are KMC 542 18x9 +0

FYI Don't make the mistake I made when pairing aftermarket UCAs with aftermarket lift spindles, check with the UCA company to see which ball joints would fit.

Edit: My goodness, sorry for the huge picture size.

if you auto start it the seats will heat up automatically, albeit you do have to turn that option on via the radio screen/vehicle settings
when the temperature is below 40 then it automatically pre-heats the seats (low setting) while in autostart mode, while in that mode the seat heater light/led is not lit, but when you get in the seats are warmed up. the mode will also do a "boosted" defrost at the same time.
as for your temp gauge it is likely thermostat or sensor, the transcooler is separate and runs across the top of the ac condenser.

Picked my Tahoe up from the dealership after having them replace the 6L80 that went out last week.
$7600 later and she's back at home.
Going to pull the file and send it to my buddy who tunes all my Chevys (Ryne Cunningham) tomorrow. He'll update it the ECM and TCM tune again.
Sucks that the torque converter failed at 125,032 miles and took out the whole transmission. But new transmission will hopefully last me another 125k miles.
At least it happened while I was in town and not on a roadtrip, and glad its fixed in time for snowboarding season.

Did you do an oem torque coverter or an aftermarket?

It's the updated AC Delco one. Apparently the part number has been superseded 3 times by GM so they clearly knew it was an issue and had to keep updating.
Figure if the last one lasted me 125k miles this one should last a while too.

they design them to make it thru the warranty period and that's it.
A billet one is stronger
