I am getting a solid 15.5 city right now since I live in Phx and have the AC on all the time now. I was getting 16-17 in the winter before my BB tune so I am hoping that will be closer to 18 in the winter. I et 17-20 highway(pre BB), it just depends on the trip. If I drive to LA from PHX I only get like 15 because it's a super windy drive and it's all on a slightly uphill grade that makes the MPGs go to shit. If I drive to Northern AZ which ends up at like 7Kft I can get 19+ since it's steep climbs with lots of down hill..... I plan on doing the e-fan soon and that will help a lot....

A couple things come to mind. First try BP or Shell gas, also the lack of bottom end torque sounds like the torque converter may not be stalling enough. Set the e-brake and powerbrake it to full throttle for about 2 seconds and see if the rpm's jump to 1500 or so. Also see what the rpms jump to from a dead stop to WOT as the truck just starts to move. My wife's 02 tahoe jumps to like 1600rpm on take off at about 40% throttle. (I'll do a WOT soon) Also a friend of mine's hoe won't get over 850rpm before the converter reaches its flash speed. Needless to say he's probably gonna get a converter soon to help pull his boat. Plus if the converter is that messed up it may not lock up. But its hard to say saywithou won yours without seeing live data. Even the data that Justin has may not be enough because it may not have been "acting up" while that data was recording. Diagnostics can be a BIT@±.

I use quality gas, either mobil or bp..doesnt make a difference..i tried the stall and it went up to about 1600-1800..im just not sure anymore..i mean the truck drives great, has good power when your crusing, just absolutely no low end and bad mpg..

could it just be that your 2004s and such have more power and are newer compared to my 2000?

around town i get around 15-16 and on the highway if i stick to about 65mph i get 20 mpg. i have a BB 91 octane tune, spectre CAI and a flowmaster catback. i`m sure i`d get more if i didn`t put the 20`s on (90 lbs each) compared to 60 lbs for the stock 16`s.

and if you have 3.42's and add a couple inches in tire height, basically you have like 3.08's pulling a 6000lb truck...

so $20 gets you what, 8 gallons? Here, has is $2.49...and your using good gas because of tune...so maybe higher?

so $20, get's 8 gallons.

15 miles to the gallon is 120 miles.

16-17 in town and 20.5 highway if I go 65 mph. Here's what I've discovered: I was getting 12 - 13 in town when I had a K&N filter in the box. I took out the filter and gave me 16 - 17. More torque, more response and better mileage.....but I'm driving without a filter....this means time to buy a CAI. The hoe wants more air :)

the K&N is the best drop in IMO.... you dont need a full CAI to get the benifits, you can just replace the tube, that foctory tube is the MOST restrictive part of that whole intake setup... however you can get a CAI off ebay for under $70 shipped to the door and they are *******, a lot of guys on this site are running with them and have good things to say

what filter are you running now? is it bone stock already? you will see noticable gains in your MPG's if you get an aftermarket intake setup, you wont see that full potential without having Justin re-tune it though

it has a K&N drop in..I got creative today and cut out the bottom of the air box, ran a tube from that down to the tow hook hole and mounted it..will get some cooler air into the air box..also i cut off the gay silencer part of the air box and patched that up, so now its just a straight tube from the air filter to the TB..also cleaned the air filter and the MAF..hopefully i see a little progress..i plan on an AEM bruteforce later on this summer anyway

Forgot to say earlier that I have an 02 5.3, 3.42's k&n drop in and 285's on the stock wheels. I tuned it myself on with HP Tuner, have the super servos from superior transmission and am always carrying an extra 80 plus pounds of crap in the back. Around town easy goin it'll do 16 mpg playin around about 15 mpg. At 67-68 mph on cruise its 21.5 to 22 mpg. I just can't pull my foot up and let it do 55 mph for any distance but it'd probably do 25 mpg or better. As far as power It will spin em up on wet days and squall belts and tires when it shifts. No complaints from me on power, last week it spanked a 6.0 sierra denali with a CAI an whatever else. Plus it pulls on my dads tuned 07 tahoe 4x4 while gettin better fuel mileage than his on average.

so yours with 3.43s has more power then mine with 3.73s, as well as getting better mpg..idk wtf the deal is..i need to just fine a 6.0 with a 4l65e behind it and swap it in..same mpg plus more power

how fast do you get in first? if i floor it from a stop, ill be going 52 when it shifts at 5700 rpm..

well i put in $20 the other day at 2.89 a gallon..thats 6.9 gallons..im at 92 miles and the gas light came on, so 92/6.9 roughly is 13.3 mpg..i guess thats not horrible..thats mostly city, with maybe 25 miles of cruisin 60 mph..still could be better
