Can’t tell what bar it is from that picture. Are you talking about something in the fore ground or something inside the housing? Can this bar be removed? Axle is all the way in but i cant even get a small magnet in there.
This is all alldatadiy has to say on it:There is a T shaped reinforcement right in the center. Other forum said I can remove it, some 10mm bolt somewhere?
I'd replace bearings and seals since you've gone this far. Might as well.Actually don't even need to take the bearings off, that's great. Need to heat up the ring gear and get it to slide off.
No HF close by?The hangup today was finding proper driver for the bearing. Socket i had would work until the bearing was flush with housing. Bearing has yo go slightly below so i ran around looking for tools.
The ball joint press kit had a sleeve that worked perfectly.
I do but they didnt have anything with a big enough hole that would clear the diffNo HF close by?
Good tip. Luckily on this job i didnt have to remove old bearings.Take your old bearing/race and slice it with cutoff wheel, deburr edges. That will give you another 1/2 inch of push.

Way to persevere! Looking forward to how it goes tomorrow.3 hrs! to set backlash. Got it to .009. Its all buttoned up will start in morning. Crossing fingers
I am f'ing impressed!!! So many are apprehensive of differentials because of the pressing/measuring and you got through it with minimal setbacks and minimal tooling.3 hrs! to set backlash. Got it to .009. Its all buttoned up will start in morning. Crossing fingers

Thanks. hopefully it actually does work though LOLI am f'ing impressed!!! So many are apprehensive of differentials because of the pressing/measuring and you got through it with minimal setbacks and minimal tooling.![]()
