@donjetman How long did you run that mix of VPB and oil for? Your results are pretty convincing.
Its not Valvoline Premium Blue, It is Valvoline Premium Blue "Restore", completely different and off the market for yrs now. I got lucky and found someone with 4 gals they didn't need and bought it from them.

I'm mistaken. I stopped by the local Cummins dealer in San Antonio, TX and they had 10 gals of it, $80/gal :doh2:

you never know when your gonna need some, and you never know when they'll stop selling it, so I bought some, its quite unique.

In my stock 2007 Yukon Denali L92 no afm with 272,000 miles, I use Banks Automind to raise idle to 600 or 650 rpm. This raises idle oil psi from about 14 psi to 18+ hot. Makes me feel better.
Cold start oil psi is always 50+ at 55 degF and it is 35-40 psi from 1200-1500 rpm hot.
I use costco or walMart Synthetic 5W-30 and ACDelco UPF63R (vette?) Filters with oil changes about 7 to 9,000 mile's (10 to 20% oil life left per dic).
Bigger area and higher bypass pressure in UPF63R, is it helping or hurting in my quest to get to 350k miles?
I run it hard at elevation in UT, NV, and Co, off road a bunch, and carry lots of stuff, 2960 front and 3350 rear axle weights BEFORE I put the 340 lb. Moto and rack 2 feet back of the hitch.

my only 2 cents on your quest for 350k is that's a long change interval. that 5w30 if driven hard is probably lost a lot of viscosity by then.

when driven hard, I'd personally go with a 10w30 or 40, more room to thin out over use and heat. then change about 5k miles.

I've done 8 used oil analysis on our 07 6.2L in the past 6+ yrs between the odometer readings of 130k & 195k miles. And I've used 0w20, 0w40, 5w30, 5w40, & 10w30 viscosities.
:2cents: for a long happy healthy engine life.
is oil change intervals no greater than 6k miles and use top tier syntheic oil(s).

I waste a lot of synthetic oil with 3000 Miles oil changes ..... But we're somewhere around 180,000 miles on my wife's L94 with AFM deleted..... And it's never used a drop of oil in 3000 miles. Mobile one 5W30 for the first 120,000 miles, Valvoline 5W-30 high mileage since then. Still runs like new. LOL, She drives it like a school bus, and I don't think she's ever had it over 2,200 RPM! I had to push her once just to give it half throttle and it scared her.... hilarious.

I wish I kneiw the past owners of mine. engine wise it looks flawless inside. got it at 135k, got 166k on it now. afm still intact just turned off and vented oil passageways. don't think they touched anything but changed oil. love to know what oil they used and how often. it's really clean inside and afm worked when I got it. and the afm is super active in the hybrids. when now that I think about it, I wonder if that's why they use a different oil pump and much higher oil pressure at all times, the thing could go into afm just off idle and charge the battery while in electric mode. huh. always wondered why it's the only ls that came with a variable displacement pump.

5k chargers don't show any loss on the stick but do get a few oz in the catch can. so I'm sure it's using a touch. I'm hoping for 300k without having to pull the heads haha. fingers crossed
