V Escalade - Loud at Startup

Anyone have a 2023 V Escalade?
The truck is simply too loud on startup. Wakes up the entire neighborhood. and I see no solution.

My wifes 2017 Camaro SS does the same. Valves in muffler are vacuum operated, so when vehicle is off no vacuum. When you start it, the valves are open and then slowly close as vacuum builds. The new Z06 Vette is really loud as well.

I never got under the truck. Figured it was an electrical actuator. Can a vacuum can work? or it would loose vacuum over time ?

Not sure what the Escalade uses. It might work. I have heard of Camaro people having a box or can of some sort that sitts at the exhaust tips and "captures" the sound on start up. I saw that on 6th Gen Camaro site.

I stayed at a road side motel. The type with 10 rooms in a row on a parking lot. I literally woke up all 10 rooms. People were screaming at me.

You do realize that exhaust note on start up is probably one of the big selling features of that truck. If thats too loud I would suggest thats not the truck for you. The Engineers spent a ton of engineering time to get that sound. Watch any review on the Escalade V and the exhaust note on start up is always commented on by the Reviewer.

People are trying to defeat one of key selling features of the vehicle?

I would suggest these people need to trade in a Toyota Prius or Lesbaru Outback.

Did they also purchase a high current Amplifier for their home stereo and then complain its too loud?

You guys are very very wrong. The key selling feature is the motor, Like the CT5 black wing. But it's quiet, like a Cadillac should be.
the 2023 Escalade V is stupid loud. the exhaust wakes up the entire neighborhood. So many complaints about it, now the 2025's are quiet. GM does listen to complaints..

You are right, it is electrically controlled by the Fuel Pump Power Control Module.

Try checking one of the many fancypants menus, maybe there is a way to set it to a 'valet' or 'I'm letting my kid drive it' mode?

Your not wrong, the motor is part of the selling feature but I kind of include the exhaust note in the motor package. I disagree the Escalade V was designed to be quiet but perhaps the 23 your referring too has been modified to make it louder then it was when it left the Arlington Assembly Plant? I love hearing my Tahoe HC 6.2L start up in the morning and thats not even close to the Escalade V Be interesting if you could download a Db app on your phone and record both the 23 and a new 25/26

Go into a dealer, and ask for a test drive on a V. Let me know what they say.

Agreed. Without an Escalade, you certainly can't get any V.
