I'll be doing this exact mod to my 77 this spring. Have the mirror and sensor. Just need to make the time to do it :)

I'm having an issue with my temp/comp mirror. It's not working at all. I bought the '99 'burban like that but would like to figure out what's wrong. It's a nice feature. I looked at the fusebox and didn't see a specific slot for the mirror. Anyone know what number it's run on or what might be the issue? Never heard of them simply dying.

Ill try and help you out Tony...

Adam,
What connector position 4, 5, 6, or 7 do your 2 temp sensor wires plug into the
mirror?
I picked up the GNTX177 auto dim mirror with temp and compass.
The directions suck.
7 pin connector on back; 1 is power, 2 is ground, 3 is ?
Thanks,
Tony

What color are those wires. i really didnt buy numbers when i did mine. Thecolors will help me more then numbers..

The colors are black and black/green.
They are for the temp sensor wires.
Where in your mirror connector did you plug these in?
Connector spots one, two and three are already used up so it has to be two of the remaining four spots
Thanks,
Tony

GM wire harness color // function
PIN 1 PINK // POWER +12 volts
PIN 2 BK // CHASSIS, GND
PIN 3 LT GRN // BACKUP LIGHTS
PIN 4 GY // TO AUTO DIM OUTSIDE MIRROR
PIN 5 PINK // TO AUTO DIM OUTSIDE MIRROR
PIN 6 DR GRN/WT // TEMP PROBE
PIN 7 BK/WT // TEMP PROBE

you only need to hook up 4 wires on the mirror, power and ground and the other 2 wires run to the temp sensor where ever you mount it. best to put it infront of the grill.
PIN 1 PINK // POWER +12 volts
PIN 2 BK // CHASSIS, GND
PIN 6 DR GRN/WT // TEMP PROBE
PIN 7 BK/WT // TEMP PROBE

Youll need a total of 4 wires for this installation. The 3 wires just leave alone. Just cut and isolate so they dont touch each other.
