Hello,

I have a pretty mint condition '99 tahoe 4dr LT with 114k on the clock. Runs great no problems, pretty much the best vehicle I've owned. Last time I took it in for a servicing, I took a look at an 09 Suburban in the show room and drooled a little bit.

I just want some opinions if it would be worth the $$$ to get into something newer. I know the new 5.3 has a 6 speed and better milage, but not a huge factor for me. Any 09 or 99 drivers out there?

Thanks in advance

*eek noticed i posted in wrong board, maybe an admin can put me in 1991-1999 discussion*

I think the decision really comes up to how much you want one and if you really want to spend the money or not. I nearly bought a 07-09 Tahoe but ultimately opted to get my 01 as the mileage in a lot that I was looking at in my area was almost as high as it was on the 01 that I got and I spent more than half as much money. Obviously there are new features on the newer models and it really comes up to how much you want them. If you currently love your existing hoe then I say to keep it for awhile and put some miles on it. Then down the road you can get one for less money after enjoying your much less expensive vehicle. Now that said if you want one so much that you can't shake the thought of it then I say go and get one.

Hoe is a common term on these boards FYI. You might want to wait until you earned your due more on these forums before you go and start telling other people what to do. Just my .02. :Handshake:

Thanks for your honest opinion. I am still pretty torn about the decision... right now the prices on the 09's where I live are roughly priced 10-15k under purchasing a new one from the show room. I'll definitely take your advice and wait until spring decides to come and go for a good test drive.

I'm just curious of all the new features of the recent models vs the '99s.

Heh, thanks again for the support :)

I've driven a TAHOE for 10 years and I call it a Hoe, Pig, Gas Guzzler, Dinosaur Burner, etc. They are all just nick names.

No worries! Happy to help you decide. It's definitely a tough call. The new models are definitely sweet but then again I really like both the OBS and the NBS models as well. I don't know what all of the new features offered are so it definitely comes down to how much you value the features that the NNBS has over what you currently own. In the end it's your dollar versus your desire for the new one.

Totally see your point . I have to earn my due here. Can you explain what my due would be? Gotta start earning it so that I can feel welcomed on a website that deals with a GM full size SUV's. This is serious stuff and I dont want to be calling anyone out until Ive earned my due.

Is earning my due like earning my keep? Or are those two different things?

I have a suggestion. Since were all so busy trying to shorten the names of trucks because its just too hard to say or type the whole word "tahoe" - wooo that was tiring - why dont we just shorten the names to one common thing so we dont have to waste any more time differentiating between the vehicles. I suggest "Yuhoban" Totally open to other suggestions here. I think this would go a long way towards helping us all save time and effort

Oh - and those guys who call their mustangs - "stangs" - they're cool too. Cause they shortened the name. So cool.

Earning your due would include having spent enough time here to have more than your big total of 12 posts so that members know you and you know them so we can avoid ignorant posts like this. You might feel more welcome if you stop calling people out for irrelevant things and having a negative attitude here. Those are things that discourage members from speaking their mind or even wanting to be part of public forums and not part of this forum which is partly why it is more of a community here than other forums. I'm done with this conversation here. If you continue to have a problem here feel free to PM me but comments like these are just not necessary.

Effeckt -

I hear you. I was just poking a bit of fun at all the short names like "Hoe" etc. I honestly think it's silly but thats simply my opinion. I was on the old tahoe yukon forum before it closed down - and I posted a bit there. Im also on boards for my other cars - and I understand your concern. No need to start any flame wars - I'm done here as well.
