I'm not familiar with HP Tuners but doesn't it have a way to set the PCM to ignore those codes?
I don't know about hp tuners but I had blackbear turn mine off and then all it does is show a constant "not ready" (when scanned), no light on the dash but it won't pass smog like that.
so whatever is done it needs to be invisible

Yeah, they are all cleared now even the evap, but i have the permanent codes from the cylinders that used to be used for the AFM/DOD.
So i was thinking of removing the ls2 valley cover i plaved and reinstall the AFM VLOM to hopefully trick the computer its still plugged in to AFM.

What are the specific permanent codes?

I think HP Tuners will turn off the light and then the ecu will not look at that PID/Sensor once turned off and the proper boxes checked.
Readiness monitors will never say complete, i think.
I have HP Tuners but don't really know how to use it very well.

that is the problem I had bandaid only, but cali connects to the computer so unless the computer says it's ok, then no go

2 ways to deactivate afm in hptuners. you just changed the drop down box from what it currently is, to the other thing. sometimes they arw labeled wrong, so just change it. disregard enable and disable text. and you can also move the activation temp to max temp, you engine will never see it and never try to activate.

most to both, I only did the drop. down box on mine. no permanent code and all i/m monitors passed.

Oh yeah, if you haven't. go under diagnostic codes section, find all 4 of those codes, and change the drop down box to "no error reported" save and reflash.

it can take up to 25 key cycles for a permanent code to go away.

I'm on a Gen 3 so my knowledge there (DOD) is non-existent. @Fless 's suggestion to check HPtuners to see if that can be dialed out is a good one.

it won't pass smog with extenders, if you can get the code to go away you might be able to remove the extender and stick it back in just before you pull up for the inspection..
maybe.....(doubtful)
however you can pass with 1 code pending...
I can honestly attest to being able to pass in PA with one category not ready. Chased a P0420 for years with a Buick Enclave. Every shop told me NO, YOU CANNOT PASS IF SOMETHING IS NOT READY, COME BACK WHEN IT IS.

To be clear, the P0420 is reset. But, having done so, there are 7 I/M categories that are not ready. After about 50-70 miles, 6/7 are ready, EVAP is not ready. And it won't be for 800-1200 miles.

So I said I don't think they know what they're talking about it's right in the statute, and even CA says the same. So I drove in with EVAP not ready, and it passed. The tech doesn't make the decision, the Commonwealth of PA's computer does. The EVAP on that car took 800-1200 miles to go into a ready state, as time went by, it couldn't go 1200 miles before the P0420 came back. At first, it would go away for years. Lastly, I learned on the 2011, even disconnecting the battery does not fully clear the codes. Only the car itself can. Just thought I'd throw this in even though this wasn't on a Tahoe, it was on an Enclave which is GM

p.s. even if the dealer replaced 2 02 sensors and the CAT, reset it, the car won't have the EVAP ready for potentially 800+ miles, so how are they gonna pass it for emissions? Because, 1 category can be not ready. It was illogical to be told all have to be ready.

I had a ‘fuel management ‘glitch’ in my /93 Mercedes 500 SL, in So. California….. Could not solve it...

In ’93, there was no code reader hook up….
The smog check shop, brought a same 500 SL, to ‘clone’ the results for my car.
I had no other choice….. I gave them a “tip” for the service…...

there's 3 states, unavailable/failed and passed. if it's failed, I believe they will still fail you for one. it's gotta be unavailable?

my understanding anyways. but still, I can make my car pass all monitors without cats and rear o2s missing. the info is hard to find and I noticed if anyone replies to a 10+ year old thread and it's brought to the top, it disappears within hours. they removed the simple ways to bypass all the ecm tests and force pass on everything with half the wiring harness missing. but most can still be done the long hard way thru settings.

Google is your friend, but don't bring the threads to the top.

I went back and removed the 4 codes from the list. Flashing the pcm obviously all the diagnosis went back to missing but they went green except for the evap now and the permanent codes are still there. So got tonkeep driving. Might need about 100 more miles and and a few more start ups to clear them finally
