Trans. fluid dipstick

Hi,
The trans. fluid dipstick is not closing well. Is it OK if I fix it with some tape? Or any other idea plz?

When you lift handle, it still doesn't want to go completely in? You should be able to lift handle and turn it right or left to decrease or increase size of body that locks in tube.

You want that all the way in to keep debris out of there.

if it's not working right just buy a new one, they are not or should not be expensive

Put a little fluid from the stick on the o ring when you have it out. Make sure the handle is lifted, reinsert, and close handle. If handle doesn't operate properly, get another one. Wrecking yards are really cheap. After all, what is your vehicle other than used parts?

If the OP’s issue is like mine the stick doesn’t latch down tight and pops up like in the pic. Mine des the same.

If it won't adjust by turning lift latch in body to increase size of body on dip stick to tighten up seal, you are going to probably have to buy new stick. Be sure you buy correct one or may cause problem with correct fluid level in transmission. Sometimes part number is on dip stick somewhere.
Something else you might check is if vent is working on transmission and not clogged if not working pressure could be building up in transmission and pushing dip stick out of tube.
