Trans drain & filter change intervals

Hey guys

How often are you guys dropping the pan and changing the filter?

Is there any circumstance where you would avoid doing this? (too many miles without change?)
Or is it always a good idea to service these even if the last change is unknown?

I don't want to cause any issues by stirring up any sediments in the trans and ultimately causing issues with the valve body / solenoids.

Do you have record of last change ? How many miles currently and what type of trans do you have? Need to figure that out before any recommendations, unless towing heavy stick to oem recommended intervals and even they do have severe use intervals as well.
