I am having an issue with the backup camera and the rear entertainment screen after installing a new head unit. I have installed the JVC KW-M590BT from Crutchfield and everything seemingly is working fine with two exceptions. I purchased the RP5-GM31 adapter as well as the GMRVD adapter to retain the rear entertainment. I can even get the rear entertainment to turn on now and the back up camera doesn't show any image at all no matter what video source I plug in. I am not sure what adapter from the Yukon goes to the adapter that came with either. Crutchfield has not been all that helpful. I have two modules left from the truck that fit. One is purple and one is brown. The labeling for the GMRVD is also super confusing and I have never been able to get PAC on the phone. Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thank you in advance!!

Welcome to the Forum from NH.

Pics of the truck, please.

I cannot personally assist you with your issue, but I had the same rear camera issue (would not work with the new head unit) with my truck and a Kenwood unit. My Installer said that a different camera was needed, but I chose not to change the camera.

Thank you for the information. I may go aftermarket if I cannot figure this out quickly.

The brown plug is where the factory camera wiring resides. I assume they sent you a plug that fits the brown factory plug and converts it over to an RCA plug (usually yellow).
