Finally swapped the new mc in. Literally took less then 10 mins. Now just gotta bleed the brakes--hopefully soon. I have speed bleeders on the rears, but I forgot the process to bleed with them. 20230528_152338.jpg

you'll need to bleed the master first. fill it, then have someone pump and hold the brake pedal while you crack the line nuts. do one at a time of course. you'll hear the air spitting out, stop when you no longer hear it. wrap a rag around the wrench and nut to keep fluid from spraying all over he place. then most of the time its rr, lr, rf, lf. if you didnt loose fluid to any of the calipers bleeding the master might be all you need to do.

I was talking to the neighbor when I spotted a stain under my left rear tire.

She never ceases to let me down. Looks to be coming from the brake line where the line is flared going into the threaded end. When the rear was installed the mechanic used copper line--the good stuff--so it isn't a rusty line. Just as I was getting ready to bleed the brakes--finally. Guess I'll look at it tomorrow. This is BULL$HIT.

If you have a flaring tool and enough extra tubing, you can use a tubing cutter and re-flare and reinstall and bleed. It really is an easy process. If you have ever flared tubing before, it is not bad. If you have not, watch some videos or get a friend that has. If you do it wrong, the flare will not seat correctly or it can even split.

Once you have done the flaring, it is pretty easy. I ran a shop one time that we made custom brake lines at. I had techs that were busy, so when an order came in, I did all the custom builds. I got to the point where I could build them rather quickly and I am honest when I say this, never had one come back.
