Loving the build thread so far, Tony. Had to take a break to reply to this little nugget...

Remember Silverado was a trim level along with Cheyenne and custom deluxe and Tahoe was a trim option on the S10 , so there

Funny story regarding all of this. I had a 1984 S10 Durango.

Truck was a complete POS, but I'll never forget the confused looks I got about it.

Thx for the read:).
Was that a trim level? Almost looks like someone stuck the nameplate under the S10. I love that body style. I used to have a 91 Sport S10. Loved it.

I had a 92 S10 and it was the first truck I lowered. The thing handled great and had a 5-speed stick. I would feather the clutch a bit and take off in 2nd and redline it. It surprised a lot of other drivers how fast it was. But I crashed it. A few times. Then sold it, still driving.

They were awesome little trucks. Mine was a nice electric blue wuth the dugital dash and blacked out trim--sport package. Got rud of it because the paint started peeling pretty bad. GM had primer/paint issues back then. That 4.3 was great.

My first ride was a '91 2-door Blazer with the Tahoe trim level. Pearl white with charcoal/dark gray interior, fully loaded, digital gauges... Lots of memories.

Yeah mine started peeling too but it didn't matter, it was so smashed up. One time I was racing some guy on the freeway and I was doing about 90 in the right lane to get around slower traffic when some moron merged at about 40 and I couldn't avoid them so I did a bumper-car and they got an immediate speed boost. I followed them past 2 exits but they never pulled over. The front of my truck was pretty messed up and my grill was back on the freeway someplace. Then a week later since my hood wasn't latching so good, it flew up and smashed the windshield when I was on the freeway. That was scary, trying to pull over with the hood in my face. Good times lol.

Lol, they probably didn't stop because doing something worse then you did by smashing into them. I've had the hood on my Formula fly up on the highway, while I was in the fast lane. Smashed the hell out of my roof and windshield. Not fun.

Sorry to hijack your thread Tony, but my next toy will probably be a '92-'93 GMC Typhoon.... anyone remember those???
Lol, np.
I had a 92, traded it for the GN because it kept breaking down. I should've kept the Typhoon. It was teal green. Couldn't hide with that color. 92's had TYPHOON embroidered in the seat, behind your head, 93 used the Bravada seats.

Mine was exactly like this.View attachment 200441
I used to beat the hell out of it. I guess that's why it kept breaking down! Lol. I still have the matts from it somewhere. Says Typhoon on them.

I am quite familiar with them... my buddy has owned two, a 92 and a 93.... he was T-***** in both... they are getting harder and harder to find... it is my dream truck although it will probably end up heavily modified.

It was my dream truck too, until owning one. It was completely stock too.

Yeah it was a trim level. I can't tell you what all was supposed to be special about it because the one I had was pretty well ragged out. Carpet was replaced with house carpet, headliner had been re-done in this really ugly polyester material that was falling down... pattern reminded me of a ******'s shirt.... weird blue peacock something.... gives me the willys thinking about it. The AC had been ripped out and the holes in the firewall were patched with cardboard. Yeah that truck was a low point in my life lol.... leaked transmission fluid so bad I had to keep a pan underneath it to catch the fluid and pour it back in to be able to drive it home (don't judge me).

I had a '99 S10 extended cab 2.2 5 spd - very fun truck to drive.
..the '84 s10 Durango extended cab 2.8 auto - very dangerous truck to drive
..and a '91 s10 single cab short bed w/ the iron duke and a 5 spd - got me from a to b and then some. Got horrible gas mileage and had no power, but that thing was dependable as hell.

Hell yeah the Typhoons and Syclones were sick!

Got some fel pros.View attachment 200385
Not leaking anymore. Driver side has to wait.
Thx for all the help, to everyone who posted.
EDIT:
That damn pulley I changed over a month ago is squeaking again.

Sorry I keep replying to old posts... took me a while to catch up! lol

For what it's worth, when I installed a cheapy header on my Jeep, I used a Fel Pro gasket instead of the cheapy paper one that came with it. I coated it in Permatex copper gasket spray before installing it though. Installed it a year and a half ago and it hasn't leaked a bit.
