Basically black RTV

So wouldn't any rtv or silicone work then, like the clear type?

Second this, been using them for years for home and mobile audio installs. Some things are priced really well, they always do little sales and always have tons of stuff on clearance. Eminence, Peerless, Dayton, Morel, and Peavey are all great brands with long histories in the industry. GRS is cheap and for a reason they dont usually last long but they sound good and are great for quick cheap mock ups.

Yup. They also do discounts for bulk orders which is why the car audio and home audio guys love 'em. I've never had the opportunity to order in bulk, but always keep that in the back of my mind in case some great side job comes up.

I don't think so man. The red and blue RTV are typically just gasket material. They don't really have any sort of "bonding" properties, they just work to keep fluids in between two surfaces. The black RTV actually has bonding properties and will work as somewhat of a "clamping force" to hold something together.

When I swapped to the center console from the jump seat, I grabbed all the parts I'd need for the swap--all the parts from the radio bezel down. I guess 03 might've been the last year for the glove box light. I finally put it in. Had to use the dremel to make a cut out.

We got a cold snap!

WTF? Does it recalibrate itself? I think it happened when I unplugged a plug under the dash near the parking brake.

The switch is near the glove box latch and the bulb is behind that.

I hope I'm making sense. You can see the switch with the bulb behind it.

I also swapped the front tires--left to the right, right to the left. I was getting some more then usual shaking. When I took them off last summer, I had marked the locations where they came from, but deviated on the fronts. Now they're back and hopefully the shaking will calm down some.

Thx, I thought that was only to calibrate the compass. I'm not too worried about it right now. I can't wait for the cold weather to come back!

Yup, it's all 1 piece. I tried the led, but it wasn't bright enough. I'd have to leave the glove box open alot longer then I'd need to, just so it would get brighter.

No, I'm right around 286,000 and change.

No. I gotta replace that sender. Bit the bullet. Motor came from an 05 Silverado HD 6.0. I wonder if that makes a difference, being my Hoe is an 03 that came with the 4.8.
