Oh, he also screwed up my expensive 10.5 mm Taylor wires, so I got some cheap API thin ass wires. They are red tho.

I won't waste my time, energy or breath. I now know better. He used that universal shit that is slightly green-ish, not the old school green coolant. Worst part--I lost what I considered a friend. That suxYou should take this clown to small claims court. And make sure you let everyone you can know he shouldn’t touch another vehicle. There’s no excuse for this shit.
Putting the green coolant in..? That’s a very obvious sign he couldn’t give a shit less if anything is done right.
I think you’ll be lucky if that motor lasts for any time at all. I’m sorry about all this Tony. I don’t think you should pay that douchebag a dime.
I wonder if boy-wonder used the wrong alternator. Can you guys see the misalignment?View attachment 262628
From the pwr steering to the alternator.
I wonder if it's because of the ear the bolt goes through.View attachment 262629
Maybe grind it down flush with the alt case--to bring the whole thing closer to the front of the alt bracket, so it lines up with the pwr steering pulley. Maybe some thick washers behind the back end of the bolt that holds it to the bracket--to help move the alt forward.
What do you guys think? Any suggestions?
No, it was the old one. Funny, I was having belt issues before with it--kept throwing belts. A guy I know that's a mechanic, said one of the idler pulleys was on wrong--he fixed it and it stopped throwing belts. This alt is a higher amp 160 that I bought from Advance Auto, to replace the 130/145 that was in there before. Never had belt problems till I swapped alternators.I wonder if boy-wonder used the wrong alternator.
I'll be messing with it Wednesday. I hope I can figure out how to line everything up. I bet Advance gave me the wrong Alt!Use a straight edge like a yard stick from the P/S pump to the ALT to see how far off it is.

That's the same pwr steering pump I've always had. I don't think it's that. I'll try to get another pic soon.I think I see it. But I don’t think it’s your alt, it looks to be your power steering pump. Looks like the pulley was installed too far. Take a closer look at it...I could be wrong!

It's rust. I gotta try to get better pics. This shit is gonna drive me nuts. It threw the belt--in the same parking lot--twice coming home.to me it looks like the belt is not seated right on the ps pump, like its a rib over hanging the edge. not sure if its rust or a groove i see on the inside of the ps pulley.

Well...I picked it up. The new front brakes that he was to install weren't on, they were completely MISSING!! I asked him where they were, he said he doesn't know. I told him I wanted them installed when I gave him the truck, along with the upper control arms, rear ss brake lines and all the other parts I gave him. So he started showing me all the bills--gaskets, head bolts, blah blah. I told him I wasn't eating those brakes. He had the balls to say how does he know that they were even in there!! That made me BEYOND PISSED! So now he's calling me a liar. I've know this kid for 8 years, and now he's calling me a liar. That one actually hurt! Going back and forth---anyway, he said just give him the $1800 and we're even. He's losing money, whatever, whatever. He doesn't want to know about the Tahoe anymore either. Ok.
There was alot more said, but you guys get the drift. Funny, the belt got thrown on the way home--so if it wasn't for my gf following me in my van I would've been stuck. Alt looks misaligned. Driving without getting on it, it's fine, but once you nail it, it throws the belt. Puked out antifreeze, and he put that greenish universal shit in it too. So, now I need to bleed the brakes because they're spongy AF, find out why my turn signals aren't working--either side--gotta get a wheel alignment because of the new upper control arms, figure out how to fix the misalignment with the alt, and some other odds and ends.
I'll get a vid and pics for you guys tomorrow.
I've been without it for a year! I wish it was perfect. I have that tech 2 so hopefully it'll bleed the abs with no problems. He replaced 1 rear caliper. I wonder if I could just bleed it the old fashioned way.....think so?Jeez I wouldn't have guessed that much would be jacked up. At least you got the bill down and got it home safely! All the little stuff can be tinkered with. That's the fun in having a hot rod anyway!

I use the bottle method myself--no muss, no fuss, plus I have speed bleeders.I've never had a Tech 2 and my brakes feel great IMO and compared to other gmt800s I've driven. I use a water bottle with a hole but in the top and piece of hose as my bleeder.

I can't wait to start fixing all the stuff myself. It's nearly free so I'd try that first. For the belt I'd check to make sure everything is tight. That jackwagon might have left stuff loose or missing.
