What's the perfect tire size for a 1/2 or 2/2 drop? Im guessing a 265/50 or 275/45?

Generally, a 1/2 or 2/2 drop is not going to require a smaller than factory/original wheel/tire diameter. However, there's not really enough information to fully assist with this...seems you have a non-factory setup (285/45/22 - 32" overall diameter vs. factory 30").

The following things immediately come to mind as "gotta know" topics:

• Are you planning to keep the 22s or go with something different? (wheel backspacing/offset will make a difference regarding what can be run without rubbing)
• How much clearance between tires/fenders do you currently have?
• How much load (height change due to cargo weight/towing) is typically expected?
• How much sidewall do you need to handle your street conditions (pot holes vs. bent rims)?

Also, there's no "perfect" tire size because aesthetics are very subjective.

285/45/22 is a factory size tire along with 275/55/20s both are roughly 32" tall. I ran a 5/7 drop on my old Tahoe with 285/45/22s and had to do just a little trimming so with a 2/4 drop I wouldnt think you had any issues

Factory tire size is 265/75/16 (31.5")... mistake on my part earlier with the calculated tire height. I'd think you'd still be fine with your 285/45/22 setup assuming backspacing/offset allows clearance.

FTR, 2001 is NBS, not OBS which is 88-98 for trucks/suburban and 92-99 for Tahoe/Yukon (plus 2000 Limited).

what wheel size are you going with 20 or 22?
