I just brought the 01 Yukon (4x4, no autoride) back from the alignment shop where they wanted $400 to put on new inner tie rod ends. I've done tie rods before, on different vehicles. How difficult is this on ours?

Napa premiums or the moogs, check out www.rockauto.com for a good deal on the moogs or o'reilly's will price match. Doing mine made a huge difference you may also want to check the pitman arm, idler arm, and the bracket that attaches to the frame from the idler arm...mine were smoked at 90k but the new stuff works real nice

Unfortunately, I ordered a buster set from ebay before I checked back here. I got a full set of 2 inner & 2 outer shipped for $47. When these break, I'll go heavy duty. At least I'll know how to put them in.

Looking at my inner tie rod it looks simple, even though I haven't done rods before. My haynes manual is misleading, though....says the inner rod is part of a relay rod and is not replaceable. This is on page 10-17.

WHAT???? The parts are clearly listed online and you guys say they are easy to replace so what is the manual referring to??
