I was doing my monthly wallyworld getting oil change essentials and saw in the clearance wrack, Mobil 1 0/30 warranty protection oil.

It said gm approved with some part numbers, and good for 0, 5, or 10/30 oils..

It was 5 bucks cheaper than the high mileage Mobil 1, and for the sixth quart I got quart of royal purple 5/30.

I was wondering if anyone has used this oil before...

So going one step further, let's assume I receive the advertised 2% increase in mpg since my towing is minimal this year.

Round up 15 mpg (it's 14.8 avg)

15 x 2%= .3

30 gallons per fill up x .3 mpg= 9 miles per 450 miles.

Change oil at 6000, roughly 13 fill ups.

13 fill ups x 9 miles extra per tank= 117 extra miles per oil change.

Worth it?? Lolz

And if I do the exact 14.8 mpg I am getting I still get 115.44 extra miles..

Ok, off to make bacon and a loaded bloody...

I would ONLY use what your vehicle calls which I believe is 5w30.

I do use 0w20 [Mobil 1] in my 16 Hoe but that is what it calls for.

That is just me..To each their own.

Location
Sasquatch Country
I use 0w30 M1 ESP in mine
It's actually a bit on the thick side at temp for a 30 weight but has desirable cold flow characteristics
