Got Tekonsha controller P3 for 2020 Tahoe pulling 3500# camper - when calibrating controller I could not get the wheels of the camper to lock up as recommended in manual before setting minimum or maximum "braking". I set it at 8 and can feel the camper brakes working so I leave it at that. Anybody calibrated a Tekonsha like they recommend? Am I looking for trouble leaving it alone since I can "feel" the brakes of the camper working?

My P3 calibrated fine on a variety of rental campers. It sounds like your camper brakes may not be adjusted properly, or it possibly has weak magnets.

Others with more experience will chime in.

Thanks for the info - btw, what "force" or level did you find as the average to brake stop the camper?

It really varied by camper, but IIRC it was 6 or 8. I think that number corresponds to the volts that are supplied to the trailer brakes, but I could be wrong on that. Pretty sure the instructions would say.
