So my tuner is currently installing the TBSS intake manifold onto my 2004 Chevy Tahoe with the 5.3. He is currently experiencing issues with the fitment of this aftermarket fuel pressure regulator to act as a return style since the fuel rail for the manifold doesn’t have a return line. Can anyone help out and see where he can mount it instead to clear the fitment issues? Thanks!

I don't have the details, but I believe others have used a corvette style regulator to accomplish the return line issue. I expect others will chime in soon with details and/or other solutions. I'll be watching, as I plan on doing this to my '02 Z71.

I used the corvette return style fuel filter on mine. The tab that supports the fuel rail inlet to the fuel rail must be cut and the fuel inlet be bent up slightly, and the fitment to the firewall is very tight. Tighter than I would like. If I were to have the intake out again I would bash the firewall in a bit for some extra clearance.

Any reason not to put the Corvette style down on the frame rail? Vapor lock between the filter and intake?

Simply because it has an inlet and return appropriately sized for the factory fuel line connections, and an outlet appropriately sized for the fuel rail. It makes the fuel system plug and play.

You could absolutely do some additional work to put a regulator or a return style filter down on the frame rail, but that solution would require more time and work. Two things that, for my daily driver work truck and as a self employed individual, I simply did not have the time for.
