As some of you know, I bought an 05 LQ9 and 65E off of here a little bit ago. All were pulled from a running Escalade with 155k, no Known issues. While I have the trans out, It only makes good sense to beef it up a little. So my question is, would most of you do the Transgo Shift Kit ($50.00), or a full Rebuild kit ($160.00). As far as I can tell, teh rebuild kit does not contain the shift kit, its just like a factory replacement set of parts for old parts. Any input would be appreciated as always guys, thanks!

with 155k I would do a full rebuild with all of the upgraded parts and a the trans go kit.
if you don't, you will be taking it out sooner than later.

Do you know if there is an all in one kit that comes with a rebuild/shift kit by chance?

Any opinion on brand, TransGo ATP or B&M?

TransGo HD2 is the go to kit. For the full install it requires near full trans disassembly. At that point you might as well replace the wearables in the trans.

sell the trans for 400$ put that towards the 1k you will need to swap in a 4l80 (complete pnp kit) and profit, knowing you wont hurt your trans anymore.

4l60 behind a 6.0 is a ticking bomb. no matter wtf you do to it.

Look at the gear ratio of the 4L60E VS 4L80E.

The 4L60E, 4L65E, and the 4L70E have lower ratios in low and higher in overdrive.

So if have a motor like the 8.1 with more Low end torque, and more Horse power the 4L80E would be a better choice.

Your gear ratio logic! :chair:
seriously tho, dump the 60, in favor of the 80.
Big heavy ass Suv whith a thumpin 6.0 eats 60-70's for breakfast lunch and dinner.
Unless you drive like you don't have a pair.

:hmmm2:
