I'm new to the forum and I would like to thank all the people who have posted photos and shared their information regarding their experience with lifting and modifying their rigs.

I though that I would share my build up, maybe it will help somebody out with their decision for their build.

My build is a daily driver that I use for work in the oilfield in Canada.

The Rancho Quicklift is great with the adjustable dampening rates to tailor your ride according to the driving conditions.

My opinion is that the BFG ATs are about the best 10 ply tire in the snow. The 285s do rub a little when I turn the wheels sharp or when I back up. A little trimming should have been done but I left it alone as the tires seemed to wear the plastic where it needed it. (Probably not a good idea, but it worked for me). The cloud rider mud flaps seem to rub more than the inner fenders did. I need the flaps to keep the mud and ice off of the running boards, before the flaps were installed I had reoccurring issues with build up on the boards and not being able to open my doors.

The 17x9" XD798 rims clean out quite well unlike the factory 20" GMC rims that were terrible for holding mud. I prefer the 17" because there is way more selection of 10 ply tires which is important for the tough conditions that I drive in.

Here is a picture that I took today:

Looks good and thanks for sharing. Is your rig 4x4 and do you have any more mods planned? BTW I was born and raised up in Edmonton :).

To anyone that has a 4-inch lift or higher, can you post some pics next to stock rigs or ones with just level kits? I rarely see any lifted ones around here and I would like to see the visual height difference.

Yes, it's a 4X4, it sees lots of off-road daily. Not a grocery getter.
I don't have any more mods planned for this rig.
I'm happy with the way it's held up.
Its got 160,000 km / 100,000 miles on it now 2700 engine hours, the only problem it's had was the transmision lines leaking (from the cold when it hit -40 last winter) and 1 set of rear brake pads wearing out. (both have nothing to do with the leveling kit).
