I'm currently running a Goodyear Gatorback but I absolutely hate it, so I am looking for alternatives.

Any suggestions?

My issue is simple: Replaced an OEM belt with no issues, just to install a Gatorback Belt and have my rig make noise and squeal while the OEM did not. Explains why alot of auto parts stores quit selling them. (Autozone, O'Reily's, ect . . .)

I would be more concerned with oil contaminated pulleys or a defective tensioner. Especially if you let the unit snap back when you took the old belt off.

BTW a lot of stores stop selling things like Goodyear products because there are trying to increase sales using house branded stuff which is cheaper in quality and cost which is profitable for them because must people don't look at quality, reliability and TCO.

My company sells Gates. Our policy is to only sell parts that are just as good as, or better, than OEM. Btw, we are a nationwide company if anybody wants to look into us. We just go by different names all over the country. Just do a Google Map search for Bumper to Bumper in your area.

I replaced the tensioner new when I replaced the belt, which didn't "snap back" when it was installed. The Gatorback was just a piece of junk. I even returned/ exchanged it for another, and had the same issue. Hindsight 20/20, I should have left the OEM belt on it as there was really nothing wrong with it. . . now I'm looking for alternatives if you have one?

Very well I just don't see the belt as the problem that's all. Unless you got the wrong one.

These are OEM ACDelco units. Take your pick.

Damn..... I'm glad I didn't put on a Gatorback when I did my belt.
It's a shame too 'cause everyone swears by 'em.

I would still use one but at this time there is nothing wrong with the OEM one. They are made of material that generally does not need replacing for several hundred thousand miles.

Yea, but they all seem to get that glazed effect, and can be prone to squeaks.

They will all glaze over a bit in time. but not like the old V-belt styles use to. If you have noise but the tensioner is correctly positioned it is more of a misalignment of pulleys nowadays.

I thought the "misalignment" usually only happened when people changed their accessories (ie:alt./water pump/etc.)?

I replaced my belt twice with cheap crap from the local wal-mart of parts stores. Both of those started to squeal within 100 miles. Ordered a Goodyear Gatorback and haven't had a squea,l sqeak, nothing. Oh yeah, those cheap belts stretched enough that the tensioner started to tap and cause the knock sensor to go into affect. I think the OP bought a cheap knock off Gatorback. Never have had problems with Gates or Goodyear. I've been using them for decades with no problems.

Or when someone or some mechanic removed an accessory to get to something else and reinstalled it w/o the proper shims.

I have had Gatorback belts on my truck for the last two years now. No squeaks or squeals at all, and they still look brand new. F*** the haters, I swear by them. Lol!
