The 2002 with 130 amp alt is 93" and with 105 amp alt, calls for 92.3"
If you put a 94" belt on a 130 amp alt, it is too long.
Sounds like the tensioner was not pulled right or the belt needed to be put on a different pulley last than the one you may have done. That 94" belt is not gonna be right. But you need to know the alt output first.

If it does not fit you must acquit. If that is a 130 amp alternator, then the 94" belt is too long. Just because it goes on, does not mean it is correct. Hell, next time, use a 95" belt and you will not have to even move the tensioner. Was it "5" people or "like 5" people?

^^^^^x2^^^^^ If you change the belt, you should ALWAYS change the tensioner assembly, as well. In most cases, the reason that the belt fails is that the tensioner assembly's spring has lost strength over time doing its job in that hot environment.

I have no explanation regarding why your 94" belt fits. If you are not the original owner, perhaps there's a mod in that area that you are not aware of that changed the belt length requirement.

I would be willing to bet the original alternator is long gone and the standard off the shelf parts store replacement is usually a 145a so then what......
I would also guess a 105a amp was not used on a denali
as long as the tensioner was not all way back with the new belt on it's really not that big of a deal

I agree that the tensioner should be replaced; it's a consumable (wear part). Would you have a pic of the tensioner, and the markings on it to show if it's in its working window?

Also look for markings on the alternator and see if you can tell the amp rating, and if it appears to be an OE alternator.

Original ACDelco belt is listed to be 94.88 At Rock Auto.
Where do you see that? The longest I see under the 2002 6.0 is 2365mm (93.11 inches).

just be glad it wasn't a chrysler or something else that takes a special tool to get the belt on, that would have been a personal bet between the 5 that tried/////
luckily the tool set can be rented from many auto parts stores.

I ran into this many years ago, I needed a larger belt than what it called for on my 00, been a long time not sure why, probably the dr145 alternator I put on it.
at the time the original belt was probably stretched enough to fit and when it was time to replace it a new original wouldn't fit.

If he is saying his took a 94 inch belt and rock auto lists one, is it incorrect?

Your listing was for the XL (OP didn't post it as such), not that it should matter. I'm not arguing that it's the correct belt; I'm saying that the Rock Auto listing conflicts with itself. The line item shows a 960mm belt but the details show it to be a long belt and a short belt at the same time.

https://www.gmpartsgiant.com/parts/gm-belt-12576447.html and the Zone https://www.autozone.com/p/acdelco-gm-original-equipment-serpentine-belt-12576447/916818 show it to be an A/C belt.
