R134a discharged

I busted my scradder valve while recharging. All my refrigerant leaked out. The specialists discharge with s vacuum pump. After I fix the valve, is that necessary? Can I just recharge without having to vacuum pump?

no you need to discharge the system to remove moisture. bigger concern tho is if your system has been open for any length of time and not capped off you probably contaminated your oil and ruined the accumulator/dryer as well. blow out the entire system with nitrogen redo oil quantities for the whole system put a new accumulator/dryer in. draw down the system with vacuum pump for at least an hour or two and recharge. do not introduce any outside air during the whole process. you will be just fine after that.

How the heck did you break the valve without damaging the line itself?!
