Got a ticket for it. I’ve been pulled over 8-10 times without a registration sticker and he was the first one to say something about it. Guy was on his A game though. Dissected my exemption letter for tint, brought up my tinted tails, etc.

Letter says the windshield cannot be tinted but side windows can be as dark as I want. Most of the time they don’t even read the letter. It’s a decent write up.
I’ve got a letter from my doctor that says the windshield tint is required to help alleviate my issue. I typically hand over both of them when they ask for it.
He also had an issue since it appears that its expired. I told him the date on the letter is when it was issued and they left the expiration blank, the fine print on the bottom of the letter explains that. The VIN also doesn’t match but he didn’t catch that.

I went to court to fight a ticket I received previously. I asked the judge what needed to be done on my end so I could tint the shield and not have issues. She did some digging in the law book and said if my doctor said it was a requirement I would be good to go.

I don't know the current going prices, but, off the top of my head, I don't think $1,200 is absurd. I'd venture to say it's a possibly a good deal if it includes custom tuning for it. My thoughts are $400 for the cam, custom tune (full tune to really dial it in) is easily $400 at least, and speed shop labor at $100 per hour for a ~4 hour job.

In that case- shop around. You're gonna need a tune and that easily hits $400-$600. Really, unless they're just hooking you up, I'm not so sure I'd trust a $400 tune. $100ish of that is just the license from HPTuners or EFILive.

Blackbear will update my tune for free99.
Planning on reaching out to them next week so I have the tune ready once everything is installed.

Aww, hell. Didn't know you already had a BB tune. You're good to go then! Just gotta find a shop to swap the cam for a fair price.

$1200 in just labor for a cam swap is absurd, I would walk away laughing at them. $600-800 would be a better price for a cam swap.

interesting I've been kicking around the idea of a cam as well and also have a bb tune already, I also have the L94, have you done any other engine mods? like vvt delete etc? besides the headers? let me know what cam you go with.

Nope. This will be the first thing I’ve done besides exhaust and tune.
I’m leaning towards a BTR stage two truck cam right now. I don’t want to mess with the converter.

supposedly.....just swapping to the ls3 intake alone can add up to 50hp, just what I have read and I guess there not that expensive and it's supposed to be a straight swap. i would advise checking that info first though I'm just a internet dummy
