Ok so such amateur, I have an 07 tahoe bought used and has this stereo. It works well, chimes and all. Says reverse, images may be reversed?

Biggest complaint is I can't get the face to open, no dvd,cd or whatever. It sounds great on radio or bt but I have kids as well. Way to switch DVD player's?

Best replacement, I'm guessing the wiring is already there because it works great sound wise

Most likely used a Metra harness. If you have steering wheel controls and the chimes, those are add ons to the harness that you can reuse also. So everything should be plug and play. You could just cut the aftermarket harness off and reuse it to attach a new head unit.
I'm pretty sure you'd be able to play a movie through a flash drive, if you want to keep it.
Have you read the radio manual? You'll get your answers there.
Pioneer radios are pretty good.

Yeah chimes and steering wheel controls all work as should. Yeah I read the manual and did a paper clip reset. Actually love the stereo, just can't get the screen to open.
Thanks

Is that where the navigation disc goes? Unfortunately it just might need to be repaired.

It sounds like the motor to move the screen and provide access to the DCD/CD player is no longer operational. You could have it repaired, but I believe that it would probably cost round 50% of simply buying a new head unit. I just had an amplifier repaired, and that cost was approximately 50% of simply replacing it with a new one.

@Bronson357 it could just be stuck and sometimes when there is a defective sd card inserted it will do the same thing (it wont open)
so, you could try removing the dash trim (not radio trim), unbolt it and pull it out just a little bit so you can pull it (UP AND OPEN) from the bottom edge, you have to be careful to pull it in the right spot
my video here may be of help, my video is for replacing a defective o.s. sd card, not the one you normally use.
once you have screen tilted forward look and see if there is a sd card inserted, if there is remove it, unplug the power harness, then plug it back in and see if then works
this is the spot you can do it with a small flathead if it won't pull open from the bottom, otherwise watch my video for a little more detail.
AGAIN the sd card I am doing in the video is not the one you are doing, the one you are doing is the regular slot available when the face it tilted

your after this one, the face does not need to come off, only need to tilt the face forward

this is how it opens from the metal arm on the bottom, if you use a small screwdriver like in my video you can get it open if you try to do it any other way it will probably break

I think only the really old pioneers used a nav disc, now it is all built into the internal memory.
I have had mine not open if a defective/unreadable sd card was inserted, it just brain farts until you are able to physically remove the sd card, in the meantime everything else works except eject.

I thought the 8200 didn't have a cd/DVD drive.

the whole avic nex double din series were pretty much dvd, built in nav was optional but could be added with a module, all but 1 were tilt screen, 1 model was not tilt screen but the whole face came off for security. all the avic 4000+ were wired android auto/carplay then the "W" models are all wireless.
they still really haven't released a newer full feature double din in years, I have the w8400 and there newest model is still the w8600 and the only difference is it has Alexa built in, otherwise the exact same radio. and it's still $1500.00.
