Many years ago, on a motorcycle trip, my friend ahead of me got hit by a bird at about 70mph.
The feathers were in the air. It looked funny, until he pulled over ( on his '71 Honda 750)...
It knocked the wind out of him. The bird felt like a baseball hit him in the chest !!

One time I was driving a semi on the Jersey TPK up around Linden and a bird hit my pass side window and webbed it, scared the shit out of me. Pete's have the split windshield.

I hit three pheasants once while driving my Datsun 510; one hit the windshield, one the grill, and the other went under. No damage but Larry [RIP], the passenger, about dumped a load.
