Train guy here thanks brah!!
Ft Lauderdale. Probably headed to the switching station down in Port Everglades.Train guy here thanks brah!!
down here, RaceTrack stations have regular for $2.83.9Pulled into RaceTrac for some fuel the other day. This guy was eyeballing me a bit. Not sure what he wanted I said hello and asked how old my truck was and complimented how clean and shining it was.
We shared a few minutes and getting to the story he said hit was a 2007 w/ 600k OG engine and transmission and he had never changed the transmission fluid.
Was having vapor lock issues on fueling so I told him what he needed to do, but the English wasn’t very clear between us.
It was rough looking, but he seemed genuine with his story.
He fired up and drove off. Imagine that. A first gen NNBS at 600k with limited maintenance?
Idk but it was a cool story bro!View attachment 465709
parked at West Marine……. Door signage, looks odd, but I bet his HOA bans ‘trucks’ in the driveway with a business logo, so he removes it when he gets home. ??
That thing is wicked cool!!
I was actually on the list to buy one of the Pontiac G8 Sport, since I am a huge fan of Pontiac... Then a couple months latter the salesman called and told me the bad news...Unicorn.
Finally have seen one in the USA. Saw them all the time is AUS.
Not an SS, but nice exhaust note and looked in pretty good shape.
Left hand drive model.
Here’s a little info about some GM bs and missed opp for USA.

No, factory-made Holden SUVs were not available in the US in left-hand drive, as Holden primarily produced right-hand drive vehicles for Australia and New Zealand. However, American companies like Left Hand Uteshave been importing Australian Holden Ute bodies and converting them to left-hand drive using parts from left-hand drive GM vehicles sold in the US, such as the Pontiac GTO or the Chevrolet SS.
Why no factory LHD Holden SUVs?
How left-hand drive Holden Utes are available in the US:
- Australia/New Zealand:
Holden was an Australian brand that produced vehicles for the domestic Australian and New Zealand markets, which drive on the left side of the road.- Global GM Strategy:
Holden was a victim of General Motors' (GM) global restructuring, which led to the brand's retirement in 2021.
A missed opportunity for GM:
- Import Bare Bodies:Australian Holden Ute bodies are imported into the US.
- Donor Vehicles:These bodies are then combined with parts from factory-produced left-hand drive GM vehicles, such as the Pontiac G8, Chevrolet SS, or the Chevrolet Caprice.
- Conversion:Companies like Left Hand Utes, based in Colorado, perform the complex process of stripping the Holden body, rebuilding the car with the US donor parts, and ensuring all the electronics and components are properly integrated.
GM almost brought the Holden Ute to the US itself, branding it as the Pontiac G8 Sport Truck. However, these plans were canceled due to the 2009 financial crisis. View attachment 466716View attachment 466717View attachment 466718
