Hello all, hoping someone can help me with a transmission issue.
A few days ago I had driven my 2010 PPV Tahoe about 300 miles on the freeway without issue. Upon almost arriving to my destination, I was turning and heard what sounded like a grind from the transmission. I felt a small jerk when the car downshifted. The car was then parked. The next day, I started the car in the morning and it had extreme difficulty hunting for gears, often just letting the rpm hang. I immediately returned home and check the fluid level. It seemed fine and once the car warmed up, it drove relatively well but I noticed that the transmission appeared to be slipping.
Being out of town, I drove the car home back 300 miles on the highway. I noted that there was a short intermittent “howl” at 60-70 mph when accelerating. Approximately 1 mile from home, I exited the freeway and stopped at a light. Once I started to accelerate, the car went into limp mode and threw a p0700 and p0709.
Can any transmission experts chime in?
Edit: I forgot to mention that there were zero issues with the transmission prior to this. 207,500 miles on the car.
