Oil pan skid plate install

Can someone please show me how this is oriented/installed?

I just bought one pretty cheap for a Yukon XL and I'm trying to figure out it. I think I got it but would like verification. Thanks

The holes are there but on mine were not tapped. I used self-tapping screws (11518341).

Line it up on the holes and screw them in slowly.

It protects the front differential more than the oil pan!

I started with a tap and that hole is more loose than the others. Just tighten the bolt and it taps itself as it goes in. As long as you the part number given. You really can't use nuts and bolts, too long and the nuts would interfere with whatever is on the other side of the crossmember, like your oil pan or something.

I bought some extra bolts, and ground a slit along the length of the threads to make a DIY tap, and just blasted them into the four existing holes to add threads. Worked like a charm.
