Hello, I just bought a 09 LTZ today. When I got home I was sitting in it reading the manual and noticed the nav seemed to still be on after I turned it off (the screen was blank, but it sounded like something was on). I then noticed that every time I activated anything electronic (open a door, adjust the seat, or put a key in) the nav would sound like it turned back on, then started reading the disk.

I made an appointment to take it into a dealer (still under warranty), but then started thinking about what it was doing. It may be trying to preload the map based on its current location.

Does anyone else notice their factory NAV doing this? (my disk is version 4)

If i do anything with or without the key in the ignition. It even activated once when i pulled the key out after the car had been off for a while.

I even left it unlocked and opened a rear door, and that set it off.

I just polled this out of the manual,

"While entering the vehicle or when turning the vehicle off, some DVD Map Disc noise is normal."

I guess it is normal then!
