Wasn't really sure where to put this:

Vehicles with higher, vertical front ends raise risks for pedestrians

Motor vehicles with higher, more vertical front ends are the most dangerous to pedestrians, according to a highway safety organization. An Insurance Institute for Highway Safety study found that, whatever the nose shape, pickups, SUVs and vans with a hood height greater than 40 inches are about 45% m...

LOLOLOL

And how many taxpayer dollars went into this study to confirm the freakin obvious? Maybe, they'll now do a study on whether the greater hood height on over-the-road 18 wheeler semis will cause more harm to pedestrians than SUV's.

Once they are all electric, it will go up again since they will be operating in stealth mode. Tesla’s already have the issues in parking lots.

A tall, raised pick up truck overturned in Waikiki a few weeks back. The guy was racing down Kalakaua Ave, doing around 45 mph, when he made a sharp turn to miss a car that was turning in the lane in front of him. He turned sharply and the truck flipped over several times and ended up on its roof. Luckily both occupants were able to walk away. The female passenger must of been his wife because you could hear her bitching and swearing at him from a mile away. Her language was quite colorful and demonstrative.

Denver doesn't care; it recently decriminalized jaywalking. Doing its best to have more pedestrians hit in the middle of the block, and blaming the drivers.
Due care is still required when crossing for pedestrains... and it's only if it's safe to do so

If you get ran over it clearly was not safe to do so.

Yes, but the change in the law shifts more responsibility to drivers. In the case of an accident, there is no longer the additional legal defense for the driver of the pedestrian breaking the law.
