I'm replacing my head gaskets and while I'm in there I'm going to replace the lifters and push rods. Can anyone confirm the stock push red length? As far as I can tell it's 7.400" unless I'm incorrect of course.
I have the L92 without AFM.
As always, Any help is greatly appreciated!
7.385" to be accurate, but many just say 7.380". Most aftermarket rods are 7.4". Maybe when stock rods are advertised, their length is rounded up? If they honestly are 7.4", I'd imagine they'd be fine since the stock lifters have quite an acceptable range for preload.
Also, most aftermarket performance cams have a smaller base circle (usually .050"), so a .025" longer push rod is needed to maintain stock geometry. 7.380"-7.385" stock length plus .025" is 7.405"-7.410". Since aftermarket rods typically go in .025" increments, an even 7.400" is the nearest without being too long.
