Need advice on 3 tahoe/yukons for sale

2004 Z71 with around 200k
it's black, stain in the back carpet, it's worth noting that the steering linkage isn't in the best shape, needss a mirror, and the rear brakes(at least) will need replacing soon no major accidents. 8500
2005 denali with 140k
pretty much looks immaculate, obviously there's some wear and tear, but he's only asking 6k, I will look at the carfax later
2004 2wd LT at 175k
Looks great, maintained by local shop, one of those guys that just takes his mechanic's word(no problem with that btw), so all the basic stuff has been done, 6500

Obviously the 4wd vs AWD vs 2wd is a debate, not sure if I care which one I get, but the denali definitely can tow more and looks nicer inside
btw, they all have captains in the middle row, heated seats, sunroof, and a DVD player. This is a real toss up so at this point, which one is gonna be easier to maintain, if they arent all identical with maintenance?

I'll be making my purchase this weekend as we just found out how easy it'll be to unload our cherokee.
And if the pros and cons to each model is simply which one I like better, that's even better cause obviously I'd like a denali with the nicer interior.
I just wanna know which one is less likely to have gremlins or if the 4wd/awd systems are a PIA

2005 Denali because it comes with electric fans, the better gen 4 rods, and has lower miles.

I agree with Dantheman1540. The Denali also probably has the 6.0 and the other two probably have the 5.3 -- in case that matters to you. I wouldn't worry about 4WD vs AWD vs 2WD unless you have a specific need of any one of them, or unless you believe repairs will be required of the 4WD and/or the AWD system.

Ditto with what @Dantheman1540 said. While I like the Z71, it does not have the electric fans and it needs a lot of work that you know of now but what work is needed that you don't know about and what the hell is the guy listing it for at $8500? Where is that guy located at, Shangrila?

ECONOMICALLY speaking 2004 2wd less parts to wear out and best mpg out of the 3, easier to work on.

I'm actually going to try to buy this weekend, I know prices are a little inflated, but still not bad at all for what I'm seeing. The one that was 8500 is definitely over priced a bit but it looks like he might be more flexible on price as well since it's a dealer.

Is there anyone on here that would be able to run a carfax for me? I don't mind paying for it, but also would love to get a free one if somebody could help me out.

I don't want to spend any more than 7, and the reason I wasn't turned away from that Z is cause I could fix everything wrong on it this weekend, and it came with a good set of all terrains.
The denali has the most options,
the Z71 is well....a Z71 and everything is easy to fix
and the 2WD LT has almost as many options as the other two (interior wise) and looks to be in the best overall shape physically.

plus, another denali just popped up for sale near my house so now I got another one to look at.

Buy Carfax through eBay. There are people with CarFax accounts that sell access on a per vehicle basis. I paid somewhere between $8 and $10 each time I wanted to run one. If you do it during waking hours, it will likely come in quickly as well. Good luck!

Just year ago suburban Yukon XL Escalade esvs about $6600 with 175,000 miles . I went with a 5.3 and I wanted to be able to click it back to two-wheel drive. And four-wheel low for pulling.and 4:10 gears . So I had to go 5.3 L . I like old school 4x4 . But I was bit scared of 6.0 and AWD . No positraction no 4:10 gears.. I want to leave the lights like mad man yes it shocks most competition at the lights . ... lol.

This question is asked all the time here about which to buy. It’s all about which vehicle suits your needs. If you would rather be able to turn off the 4WD system when you dont need it go with the Z71 with the selectable transfer case. I went through this exact situation when I bought my 2006 Denali xl. Same set of options around me. I already knew I wanted a 6.0 as it’s better suited for my towing needs. 2WD is NOT an option for me as I live in a ski town in the mountains and we get snow for 4-5 months out fo the year. Plus I work on the ski area so when it is snowing I’m trucking it into work. Would it be nice to be able to put it into 2WD MODE WHEN ITS DRY, yeah, but at the same time I love the AWD system in my Denali. It’s incredibly capable in the snow and I can just get in and drive. I don’t have to stop and switch it back and forth which is cool. And the AWD I think gives me a bit better handling on the windy mountain roads which I absolutely love. I like the interior of my Denali a little more, plus the Denali has middle row heated captains seats which I believe is an option limited to the SUVs with the Y91 Lux package, which I believe neither the Z71 or the LT will have. Not by any means a deal breaker for me but it’s a nice feature to have when I take the truck on snowbaord trips to other ski areas and a couple friends tag along.

So it looks as if the LT is probably going to do it. The Denali guy won't answer my messages anymore, and the Z71 is in nowhere near as good a shape as the LT one, and minus the 4WD, they are identical in options. So it looks like I'm going to purchase this thing this week.
Got great news at the dealership over the weekend, they gave me enough on my cherokee that I only owed 360$ to the bank. So, now we need a tahoe!
BTW I like 4wd and Awd, but I don't need it for Georgia. I have my wrangler that the whole family can squeeze into if we really need it, and hopefully once we get settled in a new house I can purchase a newer denali or Z71

I would say wait until you find a 4wd, you may not be happy with just 2wd and end up regretting not waiting until you found a 4wd. Bc if your luck is anything like mine, 2 days after you buy the 2wd, a clean 4wd will pop up for sale. Comb thru cargurus.com and see what all is around. Also, check cars.com I found mine on cars.com after about 3 years of looking for one.

I had my uncle who is very knowledgeable take a look at the 2wd and his review was nothing short of glowing. Every other model I have looked at, there were some issues that I was ok with, but this one was spotless, and extremely well maintained.

Also, I really couldn't care less if they have 4WD or not. I like how the 2WD models drive a little better since they feel lighter, I just wasnt going to limit myself to one or the other. Everyone has a preference in that discussion, I personally don't. Hopefully I can get this one, move on, and once we finish paying off some bills, I will be looking to do something fun with it.
