Had a minor crack in the meniscus of my knee for a good share. Of the summer, so I got quite behind on several things. But finally got back to them. And made the progress on the avy.

And dad at 81 years old finally hit his first deer that actually did damage!!! Only took the guy like 70 years of operating equipment and driving ( and he ran his own wrecker service, so he was on the road alot). To actually hit one.

Took all 4 to the vet, and they comforted each other in a precious we are family way.

IMG_20231004_151438371_HDR.jpg

But let me tell you he did NOT want to go!!

IMG_20231004_143333967_HDR.jpg

And big boy was looking so pathetic on the way home.

And let me tell you, it is a pain to get the seats out when the fronts don't want to move. However an air chisel and some determination got them out! Lol

Got it all out for a buddy's truck

IMG_20231012_170532507_HDR.jpg

And grabbed almost anything that could be used in one of the other three trucks before it goes.

So we got the avy loaded and headed in, butting the Denali to work again. Grossed just under 13k rolling down the road. About 4k in scrap.

IMG_20231017_115159063_HDR.jpg

Kinda broke my heart, when they went to lift the avy off the trailer the frame just fell out.

Now for the other ironic part of all this. I visit the buddy that originally had the Denali and trade him the interior from the avy for the grand am mentioned way back near the beginning of this thread. That was my dad's, that got traded a couple times now among our group.

So the Denali gets to work home too

IMG_20231017_161333939.jpg

His truck was in bad news too. The back of his just flipped around.

And for fun.

Tahoe hooked to the trailer getting the avy loaded as I had the driveshafts out doing ujoints in the Denali.

IMG_20231016_175844388_HDR.jpg

Milage getting up there on both. Tahoe is 249+, and the Denali 267+

IMG_20231015_184544062.jpg

This makes sad. I drove that truck for 8 years in total.

IMG_20231017_130426500.jpg

Even let him drive his former truck! Made him quite happy ( the Denali, whole we got some lunch when dropping the seats and grabbing the grand am ).

A few small updates. Sometimes I really enjoy the view of the backyard.

IMG_20231022_121959648_HDR.jpg

Ended up having some noise in the Tahoe, found a missing caliper bolt!

IMG_20231023_194852285_HDR.jpg

IMG_20231023_194908880.jpg

Then about a week later on the way back from a wedding heard some noise from the front of the Denali. Ended up the front caliper was seizing up much like the rear ones usually do. At 60 ish for loaded calipers, and about that for rotors. So I just swapped it all out because we don't play these games.

So the girls ( wife and her mom) was looking for a way to smoke and not be in the weather/cold. ( They stopped smoking in the house some time ago) . The guy that had it, had it built as a hunting shed but wasn't enough room for what he wanted. Thinking about putting in some insulation and maybe some basic electrical for. A light and maybe a space heater .

Super basic inside. But we may see what we can do about that later.
