I did a very half assed 0-60 video today. This is about 5,000 ft above sea level. Even in this video, it looks like I shaved a second off with the new engine/cam/headers.

I was doing some frame painting before I get the exhaust done, and I found my less than 2 year old front hubs are loose! I got gm ones from rockauto, I'm shocked that they are worn out already
Which GM line? The Professional line are a lower quality. Maybe get Timken this time around?

I'm going to dig out the receipt today, because I don't remember if I checked that when I bought them. Timken is a good brand and I may go with them this time.

What did you torque the spindle nut to? How about the hub bolts?

I used info from Google back then and I believe I went with 175 for the nut, and 130 for the bolts. But this was several years ago, and I have old man memory on some things, lol

Unless your torque wrench was way off, that should not have caused the problem. 177 and 133 for the record!

I just pulled my receipt, and found I got bamboozled!! I didn't know AC Delco had a sh*t brand. When I see AC Delco I click it and buy it. I feel so dumb now, I assumed all AC Delco was OE. Good thing I know this now, before I go buying a fuel pump here soon, lol.
There is an urban legend/rumor that you can run these front bearings without the axle shaft installed. So that torque spec is just for the operation of the shaft itself, not the hub bearings "health", isn't it?

It depends on the bearing design. Not long ago someone posted pics of a bearing showing the style that wouldn't come apart without the axle in place, but a quick search didn't find it.

you cant pull the axels and drive it it. the front wheels hubs blow apart and off comes a wheel. park it asap. both front hubs are now destroyed if you did a 30 minute drive. never heard of a hub for a 4x4 that dont need a axel in it. i know ppl who lost the wheel, fender and door when he ran...

@Dantheman1540 @drakon543 I think at the very least it is safe to say that it depends on HUB, it seems the ones that use the roll-formed bearing method are better built than the other ones that seem to fall off after a couple of feet..

Yeah, recently there have been a number of Ram pickups losing their front wheels and causing terrible accidents, a woman was even killed. When the cameraman zoomed in on the hub and truck, I could see the threads for the shaft but it was a RWD truck, no front differential.
Recently, I saw a video on youtube at Precision Transmission, the son took the worn out axle shafts apart, put the spindle through the hub and torqued it back down until the customer could return to have all the work done. Under the boot was a snap ring and once removed allowed him to rig it so the hub wouldn't fall apart.
ACDelco Professional (Gold) is often but not always the same as GM OE. Then there is ACDelco Advantage which is their economy line; no thanks.
Timken was at one time the OE supplier, the part number for our GMT900 4x4 hubs is SP500301 or was the last time I bought one.
