I using friends and family as well. Personally don’t think that is a player in this, but it is a coincidence.
No I don’t think it’s a factor I just mean there are people paying over MSRP so the dealer is missing out on revenue.

Kate, at this point I feel like our vehicle are complete and ready to be shipped- not waiting on chips. I think our vehicles were off loaded to the MID lot waiting on shipping and are now buried, so ours were parked in the back and they can’t dig them out until the newer vehicles are shipped. But newer vehicles will continue to be put in front of the older vehicles as shipments leave. They are not operating FIFO. We are in a bad cycle until there are enough transport vehicles to get us out of the lot.

Just to check this theory out I have been looking at the trip numbers of the vehicles brought off the line, this lists all the vehicles on the same transport to MID lot. Mine had 6 move to the lot on the same truck. No movement on the older ones, but newer ones have some movement.

Frustrating for sure.
I’m not sure about that; some peoples vehicles have been invoiced and they have window stickers. Mine has neither. Linton over on GM Insider has me at 3800 and GMC and Dealership says 4300 and I know of 2 others in the same boat; one who has been waiting for his truck since March…

In the GRAND scheme of things, it’s a car, I’m not waiting for a life-saving organ, so surely I have that perspective but it IS frustrating to have no answers.

I understand it’s an unpopular outcome, especially in this thread but my unit got delivered to the dealer this week. Nobody I have talked to has any explanation for why it got there so fast. I even talked to people at the dealership. They were complaining to regional people at GM about other units when mine and another unit came in. They were even surprised to find out that 5 or 6 units came in on a transporter from Texas and not rail. I feel so bad for all of you that have been waiting so long.

Why would you think this would be unpopular? Good for you, enjoy your car! :)

I agree with you… and if it is just a shipping issue… God I would hate knowing I am the victim of people too lazy or incompetent to bother to pick trucks from the back of the lot first or to think ahead and leave space for transports to manoeuvre there.

its been mentioned by Linton that GM's multiple systems have been known to consistently "give" different build codes for the same vehicle...believe he specifically said that the system the sales person may be logging into and checking wouldn't be as reliable. Not saying this is the case here but that's what I'd lean towards if I was given two different build codes.

it also makes sense that others built after yalls are being delivered...only if yours is still "waiting" on chip(s) though. The process of making sure the production line has a full supply of chips is a lot easier than jimmy going out and installing chips on vehicles over in the holding lot

something you've probably already tried, but have you checked the build to delivery history on other yukons that you're dealer has received recently? I wouldn't go too far down that rabbit hole - just curious what their normal lead time is to delivery once its built.

I'm still of the opinion it's missing "something" since a window sticker hasn't been created...and not trying to add another negative possibility, but my second guess would be that the ones that are missing window stickers and seem to be stuck there...have had something happen to them that was out of GM's control (weather/theft/shipping damage/etc)

At some point in the near future one would think your dealership would be able to get a regional rep on your case (if GM has such a person)

been checking in on a Ram forum and it's pretty surprising the number of vehicles that have had something happen during/before shipping...everything from damage to key fobs being stolen. the key fob situation usually delays trucks month...yes months, just doesn't make sense

Something to consider here as well. Out of curiosity i looked up in google maps where midlothian was and the gm plant. The midlothian lot is 21 miles away from the gm plant building these vehicles, and there isnt much building space there. If the vehicles are waiting on something to be installed, they dont have a lot of people working there (at midlothian) nor the facilities or storage of parts. And its a big lot so it could take a while to find the vehicle as well as get it to the building (if thats what needs to happen) and install the part(s). I would wager a guess is parts are a priority to the main production line and if they have extras for a week and some at midlothian need those, they send them there to be installed on those vehicles. To me that would make sense to keep a factory running vs having hundreds of idle workers while a few install parts at midlothian vehicles. But that is just my thoughts on what may be happening and a geographical picture of the situation. I know it sucks waiting. Im 3 weeks into a wait to have an allocation for my tahoe to be picked up to be built and am already impatient. Hang in there and hope your rides all get shipped quickly!

If your hunch is right and the issue is just shipping… check the Google satellite images of the lot again (I assume you did so more than once, as we all did hehe). They are recent (2022): unless they significantly changed the way they park cars since they were taken, there is no such thing as being “buried”. If newer trucks leave for the trains first, it’s really because GM employees /contractors at several levels cannot be bothered to get the older ones first. Proof of that also would be they can locate and extract the ones due for local delivery… it’s unlikely they had been segregated off the bat.

Hi everyone...

Our Yukon Denali is at the Midlothian lot- delivered there 5/2. We were given a window sticker and dealership says they're hopeful it'll be delivered within 2-3 weeks. Does the fact we have a window sticker give us a little more hope that it may come soon?

Very hard to say. All that we post here are "educated" guesses at best: we dont know what the presence or absence of a window sticker actually means. If the issue is transport, your location might also be a factor, as you must have read, some "local" customers seem to be getting more movement that the ones who will require rail transport.

Edit: Just saw your CA location on your window sticker. I guess you will probably be waiting for rail.

Got it- thank you for the insight. I appreciate it!

I think generally is the key word. Ill try to find the post, but I remember reading about an Escalade customer with a window sticker who ended up being 4D00 MP for a while.

Anyone have any updates recently? This is week 6 of my Denali sitting at Midlothian with no good rationale as to why. Starting to look into alternate vehicles...

Hello,

Just wondering…

Are you waiting on a Truck/SUV that Jack Cooper shows sitting at Midlothian Strg, TX?

OR

Did your Truck/SUV go to Midlothian and then get delivered relatively soon?

I’m waiting on my ‘22 Yukon Denali that GM Chat tells me is in status 4300, built 04/13/2022 and Jack Cooper site says is sitting in Midlothian, TX.
Mine has been there since 3/31, still no word and no Window Sticker

I called the GMC Customer Service number today and she called to get a status and she said I'm still 4300 and waiting for transport in that lot. Something still doesn't add up because I still don't have a window sticker and my salesman still doesn't have an invoice...unless that happens once the vehicle is loaded for transport...
Mine was sent to Midlothian 3/31, status 4300; no window sticker/no invoice per the dealership….How were you finding the window stickers on the ones you have searched. Mine is not on the inventory site, so I can’t check there.
