2012 Tahoe 5.3 with about 60000 miles, using it off road and towing so not really a DD. Planning on going with a SC, so the big question is any particular one? also any supporting mods?
We would be happy to help with a supercharger and tuning with our AutoCal. Once you install the supercharger we would have you read out the tune files on the vehicle and email them to us so we can build a base tune to get you up and running safely with the supercharger. Then we will have you data log, we will use that to dial the tune in, all of this is via email with the AutoCal.
Here is some information from our tuner (Justin) about the superchargers we sell.
"The Whipple, Magnacharger and Edelbrock are all going to be very close in terms of power output relative to boost level. They are nearly the same efficiency.
Magnacharger instructions and installation is a LOT better than Whipple's setup. Edelbrock is a bit more difficult to install than the Magnacharger, but only very slightly. Whipple is the most involved.
Magnacharger and Edelbrock bypasses are set up for smoother boost application. On my Whipple'd 6.2L, if you are riding right at the edge of boost and increase throttle by just 1%, it can go from 2" vacuum to 2psi of boost instantly, resulting in a bit jerky of a drive.
Where the Whipple wins, in my opinion, is sound. I like the sound of those rotors better than the Magnacharger rotors personally.
Magnacharger and Whipple are both terribly slow to ship (3-5 weeks) whereas Edelbrock ships next day in most cases.
We have run Whipple and Magnacharger systems on daily drivers for the past 10 years now without a single issue related to them. I have not yet run an Edelbrock myself, but have many customers that have and it is a well-made system."
Let us know if you have any other questions.
