Key fob no program

So I have a 19’ Yukon with keyless entry, but starts with a key. As in no push button start, and no emergency key in fob. Is there anyway to program a new fob with this configuration, or am I dealership bound?

I think they have required a dealer or someone with the proper bi-directional scan tool since 2012.

You could also go to your local locksmith. If they can do the programming (like they did for my 07), it will cost you a lot less than a dealer, and it will take less than 15 minutes.

I realize this thread is a year old, but what did you figure out? Did you go to a dealer, locksmith, or something else?
