Mine went up, too. I'm on the second tank now. After the first tank, I was at 0.18/ mile. With 89 I was at 0.194 iirc. Will run numbers again after this tank and post in the e85 thread.

Well I had my son pull everything apart for me today so I could solder in the sequential turn signal modules.
I like the way they look with the parking lights OFF...
I don't like them as much with the parking lights ON because I have type 1 switchbacks and the turn signal is harder to see because the white parking lights are blindingly bright...
I don't think I ordered type 1 LEDs but that is what I ended up with.
Looks like I need to order the type 2 switchbacks to get the look I am going for.
I hate to order new bulbs when there is absolutely nothing wrong with these... anybody need some type 1 switchbacks???... lol

Can you put the parking lights on a relay so they're killed when the turn signal circuit is on?
I agree, the park light needs to go off when the turn signal is active. Is that what the other type of switchback will do? I know on the cars that have white led park lights that switch to turns that's what happens.

I could but that would be WAY more work than just swapping the bulbs for type 2 switchbacks.
Yes...
Type 1 bulbs function the way you see in the video... White, Amber, White, Amber, White, Amber during signaling.
Type 2 bulbs function as follows...
White parking light turns off during signaling so you get Amber, Off, Amber, Off, Amber, Off then when the signal is cancelled it goes back to White.
I will eventually buy the type 2 bulbs but funds are tight right now and I hate to buy bulbs when these aren't messed up...
Anybody wanna buy some type 1's... lol

I just got all mine dialed on my CC. Some were damn Mishimoto's $$$$. They sure look cool though, even when they're off. But then I spent about $500 in parts for those headlights between retrofits, demon eyes, etc.

That's a great idea! Any chance you have a photo of how you wire in the sequential module? I've already converted my lights to switchbacks so both lights turn on as DRLs and flash at the same time as signals. Thanks!

I didn't think about taking any photos. I guess I just assumed everyone knows how to do things and don't think about pics of the install... lol
I actually converted my inner most bulb to parking lights and turn signals so that neither of them function as DRLs.
I have halos in my projector fog lights that now operate as the DRLs.
The install really isn't that difficult. I always like to solder and heat shrink all my connections so that adds a little bit of time to the install but is well worth the effort IMO.
Without digging through ken, which switchbacks do you want to get? Gimme a part # so i can spend money....

I haven't decided yet.
The ones I have now have 144 LEDs on each bulb and are stupid bright.
I would like to find something similar/equivalent but in a type 2.
Something like these would probably work ok... just not as many LEDs...

So I have always thought it was stupid that GM decided NOT to install an underhood light from the factory. It's a $50k+ truck for crying out loud.... maybe that's why they didn't think it needed it... anyone that can afford it probably would just have it towed to the dealership... lol
Anyway it has always bugged me because " I do my own stunts " so I took some left over LEDs I had laying around and an old "mercury/hood switch" and wired them up today.
I cleaned the hood with alcohol where I intended to stick them and then stuck them in place. I was worried the tape wouldn't hold up to the heat under the hood so I drilled 1/8" holes on either side of the strip about every 6 to 8 inches and ran a zip tie through and around the strip to secure them for the long haul... hopefully.
I wired the strip to the mercury switch and tucked everything inside the hood bracing out of sight. I drilled another hole to run a zip tie through and around the mercury switch to hold it tight to the inside of the hood brace.
I then attached the positive lead to the wiper fuse and grounded it to a bolt on the AUX battery tray. I put some wire loom around the wires where it exits the hood brace at the lower driver side of the hood.
It seems to get the job done pretty well.
Pay no attention to how dirty the engine bay is... I need to clean it up some time.
Hopefully this works out well over time and the heat doesn't affect the LEDs longevity.

I like it. I tried doing something similar, using an underhood light from an 02 wired to some led strip lights, bug it didn't work out very well. Maybe do some kind of diagram or write up. Good job.
