Ty for the info, i got hp tuners to read the map correctly.
I did some tinkering with the different options in hp tuners this morning and confirmed i can read map vac.
I also watched a little goat rope garage last night about the hp tuner layout as a refresher.

then this morning while fkn around with the graphs, i noticed the "units" were in PSI.
GRG mentioned that you need to match what ever scale with what it shows in the tune for some reason.
(Or maybe i choose a different map sensor while screwing around)

I changed the reading to kpa and bam, i got the graphs working!

I still need to get that copy paste of the fueling values to work, in grg vids it raised the resolution...
So i need to re-watch that video... lol

I did a little drive with it logging, and assuming i didn't get some other sensor wrong, it seems to be mostly removing fuel vs adding.
Just Crusing around, it's already driving and running better without having to change anything.

so i did another little break-in run, went up a canyon that's not too much of a load, then let engine braking carry me back down.
Lots of light throttle and engine braking through the corners.

The plan now is to change that filter, I have a bunch of magnets on it.
including a little magnet fishing one at the bottom.

cut it open, and take a look.
From there i'll just spin a new one on and top off the break-in oil for another slightly longer run. :waytogo:

I'm crossing fingers, toes, eyes, etc. that the filter looks good...

Cut the filter open, it had some sparkles.
seems to be a bunch of non metallic mixed with metallic.
Googling around, it seems to be pretty normal...

Keeping an eye for now.
I'll change the oil again in about 40-50 miles for good measure.

(This being the second oil change after the first run, I just pulled and changed the filter for now)

Awesome! Congratulations!
like I said previously, I've put 1600 miles on mine with the "stock" tune and it's pretty much ok. Like yours, it's been pulling fuel, not adding. I obviously need to do a fuel tune and figure out spark because it has a dead spot between 2 and 3k. After 3k it's all "v-tech" feeling as @iamdub would say so I know have something going on in that area. Raising the idle like 100 rpm through the range on both ac on and p/n tables helped tremendously. It would nearly die when sitting in drive and ax would kick on. I'll do another oil change when I get my pushrods swapped for the slightly longer ones in the spots it needs.
Glad you're up and driving again:)

Ty, feels good to have the hoe up and running again.
I am noticing the increased low-end, I'm sure there is a bunch more still on the table.

I wasn't going to, but i decided to cut open the first run filter to take a look.
Found some tiny paper towel bits in the filter media :jester: , and more metal.

so it's reducing the amount of metal compared to the first run, yay etc.

And if i add the first run with the second, i still have less material than this guy: https://www.hotrodders.com/threads/metal-in-oil-on-fresh-rebuild.443369/

I have some high zinc 10w 30w (ZR1) that i keep on hand for the vette.
I also have a gallon Lucas hotrod high zinc 10w30 (backup to the ZR1).

I'm tempted to use the Lucas stuff with a quart of the Zr1 for the next oil change.

From there I'll go to Mobil 1 5w30..

So far everything is going good...
fa9aayqv9ya2zy26mr18cz8x5jti52zkxz229zk7&rid=giphy.gif

I got the hoe down to 1/4 tank, and filled up with fresh 91. :waytogo:

I also just hit about 200 miles and opted to drain the break-in oil.
Used a partial jug of Mobil 1 5w30w i had laying around in the garage as a flush and got a little more break-in sparkles out of there.

Filled back up with Valvoline VR1 Conventional 10w30w.
I keep that stuff on hand for the ol vette, it runs a flat tappet camshaft with some increased valve spring pressure.
It's an excellent oil, and a great alt to a break-in oil.

In my case, actual break-in oil is cheaper than VR1 is right now.
:jester:

I ran out of the extra capacity filters, so i put on the last stock subby Mobil 1 filter that i had on hand for this change.
Ran it up the canyon road, and then back down again.
Noticed coming down the canyon in tow mode, it liked to shift down and run the engine at 5k rpm + for engine breaking
I'm not too happy with that being the engine is so new, but i let it go for a minute.

Then i started getting some oil pressure pulsing, almost like i started sucking air!

I got the same pulsing just stopped at a light or cruising on level ground and at low rpm.
Always the chance that my pressure sensor is having an issue, I thought about changing the sensor but opted to just run it through the ultrasonic cleaner since it's not very old.

I also feel like my idle oil pressure feels a bit low, especially with the super oil pump i have.
Idle hot is just under 40psi
On the way home yesterday, it started reading 35psi.
Cold with it being nearly 100f outside, is right at 40psi, or slightly above.
otherwise it's fine.

Damn good chance it's just the filter.

Either way, i'm yanking the filter to cut it apart for good measure.

For the replacement, i'm running the ones that my wife's 2011 Buick calls for.
Higher pressure oil bypass in there makes me feel a little better, and it has a larger capacity.

I suspect I'm doing the oil pressure sending unit soon.

I think my truck with standard pressure, high volume is at or just above 40 at cruising speed (42 psi?) and just above 20 at idle. Say 22-25ish. Thats full warm. When its cold its mid 50s under throttle and about 38 at idle

Yeah i'm not overly worried about it.

It's good, especially when cruising.
I also used the stock pressure spring, and didn't shim it this time around.

I just expected above 40psi hot, fresh bearings and all.

Overall, so far so good.
No odd noises when starting after sitting over night.
pressure comes up quickly on startup, valve train sounds great.
I can hear the roller rockers a bit more than i'm used to
like a sewing machine, but quieter than the ones in my vette. :patriot:

I'm also planning to change the driver side valve cover for the updated style.

I'm not getting much in the catch can, but i am seeing a little.
for a new engine, i would like to see a little closer to none.

But that's probably going to be a later task.
Maybe after 1000 miles when i would like to pull the valve covers to check everything over and re-torque stuff. :waytogo:
