Isn't always an AFM lifter that fails

Trouble shooting a #3 misfire on my 19 Denali 6.2 with 98K miles I found the #3 cyl intake lifter had serious wear on the roller and an obviously bad cam lobe. A non AFM cylinder.
Question: Is it easier to remove engine to do the AFM removal/cam swap? Body is getting pretty bruised up crawling around the engine bay trying to access everything, and the doing the front doesn't look much better.

It's unquestionably easier once the engine is pulled, it's the pulling it that makes it harder. Perhaps a good compromise would be pulling your fenders off to open up the sides?

If you want to do something extreme, take the body off the truck and have the engine fully exposed for you. Not recommending it, but it is an option.
