I hadn't either until I started doing a lot of research and read some good reviews on it. I'm sure some stuff is gimicy but not all for sure

However some minor issues can be taken care of it looks like

Besides. I think most people are too far gone for a treatment in a bottle by the time they address an issue.

i had a similar issue with my 6.0 GTO. when i started to research, i found that the already mentioned issue with the oil pump bypass was quite prevalent in the entire line of LS motors. when i pulled my pump out i found that the bypass was stuck about 1/16" - 1/8" open. the additive that you used may have fixed the problem for now, but i'd be taking a serious look at replacing the oil pump. i've done 3 so far (mine and 2 others), and it's not that hard.

Well this stupid issue raised it's ugly head again last night! this time it's throwing an engine code P0521 which indicates possibly a faulty sensor. That sensor was replaced a year or so ago when I was going through all the troubleshooting steps but we will give it another try. She's heading to the shop again first thing in the morning. In talking to the wife if we cannot find a legit fix this time around she's all for putting a new engine in the burb as opposed to selling it and getting a whole new vehicle. We shall see how this turns out. I know I'm pretty frustrated at this point.

Agreed. Honestly, if the wife would drive one I'd put her back into a gmt400 but at this point but she has 0 interest in that so this is the route we are going.

Considering they are some of the most reliable and desirable engines out there (LS based engines) I find it difficult to believe that they have so many issues. Could it be the mechanic? Just thinking.

Overall I've had very good experiences with all my LS based vehicles. This particular issue has been a thorn in my side so I'm just whiney right now lol It'd be nice if the mechanics I've taken it to (two shops) could pin point exactly what's causing it. It seems to be a needle in a haystack

Silly question but have you had GM look at it? Just wondering. Seems as though their resources would be a little better?

No, I have not had a GM dealership look at it yet for a couple of reasons. My burb is well beyond it's warranty time obviously and in my experience dealerships charge a premium just to breathe their air. Another reason is because it's been my experience that a lot of the mechanics at the dealerships I've tried in the past are no more or less qualified than mechanics you'd find at any trustworthy and qualified shop. When I do need help the shop I go to I do feel is trustworthy and full of qualified mechanics. We've just not been 100% successful with this issue yet.

With that said, it may be worthwhile to try a dealership before I jump to the expense of putting a new engine in. I will have to find a different GM dealership than the 3 I've tried so far in my area over the years, though, as those 3 I've found to be nearly worthless.

I was just thinking that all day they deal with LS engines, whereas a mom/Pop shop deals with a variety and not specific to GM. Just my thoughts.

Yeah I agree. Your thoughts are logical and make perfect sense. I just don't have a hookup at a dealer. I'll do some asking around town, though. Maybe someone I know will know someone.

Take lessons from Serge. After his first visit to any dealer he has them giving him free shit. It's crazy.
