How to remove the plastic tube for the spare tire hoist?

Does anyone know how to remove the plastic tube that attaches to the spare tire hoist? Is it clipped into the hoist? I have a new one (without the awful "secondary latch") and want to install it but I don't want to break the plastic tube.

Thanks in advance!

EDIT: I searched YouTube and Google and came up with nothing.

Carefully pop tabs up on white collar with screwdriver. Old/brittle ones may break. Then white collar slides off when you take apart the plastic two-piece tube from the rear bumper. For anyone wondering who finds this post.
