How do you remove the cross bars

I almost made it in the garage without touching. But when i pulled it back out i rubbed the crossbar of the roof rack. how can i remove the cross bars?

You take the caps off (front or rear) and slide them off

Do you plan on removing the crossbars completely? I guess parking in the garage is more important than having those.

Just for the time being. Not the side tracks just the cross bars. If it's simple as popping off the end caps sliding off and on. Why not?
